Agree on Suggs fitting them better (for now, since he's playing well). Last year, their guard spot was very up in the air. Promise of upside is tempting for GMs, around the league, Jalen still has it, which putting people's personal feelings on Green aside, it's looking at his market value.
That's extremely inaccurate. I wouldn't call any current Rocket or NBA player in the league, for that matter, at this moment as perfect. He is a young and slight of build NBA wing/guard (mainly guard) that plays on the perimeter and struggles with his all around game if his shot isn't falling, on any given night. He needs to continue to strengthen his body and tighten his handles. Once he can learn to use his quickness as an advantage the way Westbrook did (start, stop, and/or stagger) to find his way to the rim consistently, he will be deadly every single night. So far those are the worst parts of his offensive game. Defense, is an entirely different subject. He needs to work THAT MUCH HARDER on that end to become a semi-competent defender. I like our young guys but each of them have deficiencies, if we're being honest with ourselves. No one can be labeled even close to perfect.
Woah, too much negativity...Stats don't matter when Jalen steps on the court with the AURA of a SUPERSTAR. Personally, I always enjoy and root for him and he also makes me very happy with the way he dribbles. He is only 21 and only in his 3rd year...for me those things are enough to enjoy him. I just don't have to look at the box score and everything is fine. it's much better than watching a jokic wannabe who has no aura at all. A shower of positivity from our fans is what our team is in need of right now. Just keep in mind that Jalen is the one reading our stuff about him.
I'm a Rockets fan man. Any person that steps on the court with a Rockets uni is someone I'm rooting for... even if it were the worst of the worst..... yes I'm looking at you Derek Fisher. I feel like the negativity comes from guys like ya'll that want to pit one player against the other. There's no room for that type of negativity, especially around here. Pretty sure that Jalen would agree, as well as most posters here, with my sentiments when it comes to Jalen's room for improvement. We don't seem to be as delusional as you guys seem to be, while watching from the Only Fans gallery. If you think Alperen has "no aura" I suggest you watch this interview with him on Podcast P:
So damn funny to listen to the couch coach crew discuss who is or isn't all that. Like they know. F'n hysterical. When's the game?
It doesn't matter who is right or wrong etc....we are all Rocket fans - I just move on faster than most - my point about KPJ was that he has very high level BBall skills and his ability to beat his own man, and several at times would have been useful, look at FVV he is dying out there because he is being overplayed.....his shooting % are dropping because I believe he needs help. Jalen isn't it. I know he is 21, I know it may not be popular but I usually make my mind up about players pretty early and with him I just don't see it, and with Cam I do. So, with the pressure of the Front office needing to make a decision, and if they agree he will never be a great player, it might be time to move him before that happens and he still has the potential to get there, in some eyes. I watch him play and I don't see BBall IQ - I see someone that needs the ball in his hands to be somewhat successful and we have better TEAM players that need the ball that help the team more than he does. Anyway, here is to hoping he finds his way, and I get a good dose of crow.... I think I am just early on decisions - it's ok to agree or disagree, just opinions anyway. Go Rox! DD
Ime had his minutes cut short today because he was going to give him a break since we were going into the garbage time. In the long run, load management is important.
Believe me, most of the couch crewers that are proclaiming this or that guy NOT being all that are completely wrong.... their track record speaks for itself. Whether it be basketball or football evaluations, I'm pretty sure they're about 90% (maybe more) off base on their opinion and analysis.
I wonder if Nate Williams ever get's to go against Jalen in practice? I assume he does. I also wonder how he's showing. If he might be the next man up if Jalen can't find his consistency. I don't know much about Nate but like what I see when he's in. I also wonder if Cam Whitmore will get an opportunity if Jalen can't find it. I hope he does but how long should we wait?
