30,000 employees seems like a lot? There's an estimated 6 million Palestinian refugees. By comparison, the UN High Commission for Refugees employs 19,000 per Google - and they have jurisdiction on an estimated 35 million refugees. Before you ask, I don't know what the "right" number is -- just odd that it's 50% higher than the closest proxy which in theory has a much broader mandate. It looks like UNRWA has an educational mandate that UNHCR does not, but I'm not sure the origin of that. Plenty of others have documented the UN's often overt obsession with criticizing Israel -- there is plenty to be critical of to be clear, but for some reason there are more resolutions condemning Israel than the rest of the world combined? In any event, given their mission, I would hope UNRWA would hold themselves to the highest standards with respect to the people they employ. I would also differentiate between being sympathetic to Hamas and actively aiding and abetting a known terrorist organization. I would think ensuring the education system that they are running is not contributing to overt messaging regarding the eradication of Israel would be a priority. When they fall short of that, they should rightly be criticized.
How can some of you idiots keep talking about how Israel needs to limit its response blablabla...these people do not want peace. There is only one way to deal with them.
ATW and Basso, isn't it time for a repeat of Hamas roasting babies in ovens --and forgive me ,if I forgot, did they eat them? I am sure the continual footage of bleeding and injured kids on CNN,ABC, MSNBC is driving you nuts. I ask a sincere question what is your Fox News showing?
