Taking the girl out for din din tonight, but I need some suggestions..... Some place kind of inexpensive, quaint, and not a chain restaurant. It doesnt matter what kind of food..... thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks
Live Sports Cafe!! ok..maybe not. hmmmm...inexpensive....is Houston's too much? that's a pretty good spot...kind of "chainy"...but still good. nice atmosphere.
I'm actually embarrassed that I know where that sig comes from, perv. As far as restaurants..... Mexican: Cafe Adobe $10-15 a plate Italian: Buca di Beppo- $10-20 a plate Indian: Sucks Greek: One's a Meal: $7-15 a plate American: Champps: $10-20 a plate Might also want to try Amazon! Their food is excellent, and is $7-11 a plate. If you know of a specific type of food, let me know.
Kanomwan - Thai food. About $7 - $10 a person. In fact, I'm hoping to talking the wife into going there tonight.
I always thought that dinner at Bira Porretti's downtown was nice. Not terribly expensive, good food and it is smack in the middle of the theatre district (just a block or two from Main Street).
my dad used to sing sinatra music with a big band down there every saturday night!!! before that, it was a great date spot on a saturday night!!
Try.... Josephines Ristorante 1209 Caroline St, Houston, TX 713-759-9323 havent been there in a while, but have always had a good experience there and it seems to fit your criteria.
I can definitely vouch for Josephine's. Good Italian food and a nice, small, intimate setting. I haven't been there in a while either. Good idea!
One of my favorite date spots is Cavatore Italian Restaurant... and I'm not a big fan of Italian to begin with. It's just off the North Loop. It's built in what used to be a barn and it's got a lot of personality. Usually has a live piano player there too. http://houston.citysearch.com/profile/9846740/houston_tx/cavatore_italian_restaurant.html I love Kanomwan too! Absolutely outstanding Thai food and really cheap. It's BYOB too so bring your own bottle of wine. The place is kind of plain, so I don't know if I'd recommend it for a romantic evening, but it's a great place nonetheless. http://houston.citysearch.com/profile/9862297/houston_tx/kanomwan.html
Oh, you said quaint. Quaint. Hmmm...quaint. Thai Spice or Nit Noi in the Village. Kind of dark but nice. If it's Nit Noi, get the ice cream for dessert. I can't remember if it's coconut or caramel , but it's really good, with something fresh on the side, and very sensual. Ruggles Cafe Bakery, also in Village, has good salads and very good dessert. It's nice when y'all can share a dessert. All the chocolate things are good. - Bonus - no liquor license means you can bring your own bottle. That's a "quaint" touch with a plus. There might be a corking and glass charge, but I don't remember one. Mo Mong in Montrose is kind of nice slightly upscale Vietnamese for a date. They have good Bo Luc Lac. There's a lot of couples there, and you might get a bonus heterosexual identifier with her.
Kanomwan is my all time favorite restaurant in Houston, but it's not for the faint of heart this time of year. The food is hot....and so is the restaurant. He needs better AC. Daily Review or Benjy's would be best for Drewdog.
alexanders on hidalgo a block away from the galleria. Get the king phillips for two.. its greek food and intimate. for good place for a date.
