JJJ 0.8? Maybe current year JJJ who is shooting 29% from 3. 0.8 of that is 23% which is still double Mobley's 3pt percentage.
Wagner is second at worst, Barnes' 2nd year was catastrophic and this year it is a close race with Wagner.....as Wagner's 2nd year was phenomenal. I would go on say that Wagner's Sophomore year was the best among all candidates....Mobley 2nd, Alpe 3rd. Easily.
Who would go #1? Barnes. Who should go #1? I'm personally biased so I would take Sengun of course, but it's honestly a tough call. Both are going to nba studs for years.
Sengün has the better season so far, I admit but Wagner had 2 full seasons (over 100 games) that are better in stats.
Sengun is more unique. I think it's safe to say that he has midrange. Sure it's not as reliable as DeRozan jumpshot but it looks reliable enough so far and there's no reason to believe that it won't get any smoother. If he adds outside shooting to his bag he's the clear #1 of the 21' draft. Because Sengun with reliable 3pt shooting returns a 25+ ppg type of point center. It immediately makes him better than Sabonis because Sabonis is not a reliable 3pt shooter. The reason why i'm high on Wagner is similar to why i'm high on Banchero. They are both complete players with size advantages. Wagner is huge for a small forward, can dribble, has good touch, he's fast for a 6'10 i mean he's a damn good bb player. On top of that he can defend. When i look at Wagner i see a perennial all star. He has great fundamentals and i don't bet against talented players with great fundamentals. They find a way to flourish. What makes Sengun unique is that he has x factor i think. He's unpredictable and borderline unguardable in the paint. He can make tough shots and make sth out of nothing. Despite being 6'11 he can get the ball on the perimeter and attack to the rim like he's a guard. He spins very fast. Has angular speed of a 6'8 dude. That's why Paul Geoge couldn't react in time and fouled him. He is not fast on straight lines but his rotational speed is very impressive for a center. These players are rare. It's not a coincidence that all those NBA players have been praising him since last year. Because you can't take your eyes off the special. It hypnotizes you, drops your guard, and makes you want take a bite out of it. That's why even though they did not meet on person Harden told him that he was proud of him. He appreciates the special like many others in the league. His guard traits, him being unpredictable/unguardable seperate him from the other players in his position. That being said i don't really care much about ceilings since i'm not a roofer.
If the question is who would go 1 RN in a draft by Pistons, I’d say Barnes. Alpi is the answer to who I would pick at 1.
The best thing is Sam Presti gave the best prospect away. If he kept him Chet-SGA-Giddey-Alp quartet would dominate NBA next 15 years, getting 5-7 championships.
whataminute.... so yer tellin me that our 'treadmill of mediocrity' pick (thats what yall was calling it when we drafted 14-16 every year) was BETTER than the guys that teams tanked for to pick at the top of the order? let that sink in... remember that the next time u feel we gotta flush a couple years to 'get a superstar'.... lol
A coincidence....Petrusev also being from the 2021 Class....and temporarily returning to Europe. “I felt it would be better to play in Europe. I saw some things in the NBA that I didn’t expect. I am a young player, and I want to compete and help my team,” Filip Petrusev said upon landing in Greece to join the Piraeus team. Source: EuroHoops.net
The problem with Cade isn't just efficiency, it's efficiency and turnovers which kinda nullifies the higher assists numbers. I was hyped as hell for Cade, I think he will find his way way out of the funk. But he has some glaring issues with being too slow to score efficiently against NBA defense
If I'm being honest, this draft produced maybe only 2 franchise players (Alpi and Cade.) There are a lot of solid to good players, but a lot more complementary guys than players you could build your team around.
Literally every team would welcome a 6'8 forward with a huge wingspan, shooting, ballhandling, passing and defense. Barnes has very little holes in his game and I love his game. But I love Sengun more since I am a rockets fan and that's who I voted for. But you cannot deny that Sengun and Barnes are in their own tier for the 2021 draft and most teams that already have a good center that doesnt guard 1-3 would pick Barnes
If Barnes’s shooting is no fluke he’d go first. That dude has a complete game if his shot sticks. Otherwise it’s Alperen easy.
umm no they would not because inevitably one of them would demand a trade or would be traded due to money. can’t keep all those guys if they developed they way you expect them to. That is how we ended up with Harden. They decided to keep Serge Ibaka instead of Harden.
