Most teams take Barnes, but I'm emotionally attached to Sengun now

Knowing what we know now, it is a no-brainer. Sengun!

With detroit still holding the number 1 pick, I think they would pick Cade again.

    I would pick Sengun though.

There is usually a confusion between the two questions in these kind of polls.

To clarify, my question is whom YOU would pick no. 1, knowing what you know now.

I'm not so sure. Did you see that piece the Ringer just put out on Cade and how historically inefficient he is? He's pretty awful.

I suspect that now the top four would be something like Barnes, Mobley, Sengun, Wagner. Not sure if that would be the exact order though.

I would never put sengun first, only second.

If we were to do a redraft Anybody wanting sengun to b picked first ain't a Rockets fan and just outted themselves as a sengun onlyfan.

To clarify, this is not about simulating that teams pick in the exact same order as 2021. It's about whom you would pick first if you had the no. 1 pick.

    Thought that was clear.

I haven’t seen enough of all those players to make an informed decision. Plus you have to try to predict what they will eventually become. Being a biased Rockets fan I would probably pick Sengun because he’s already very good and he’s growing and inch per year.

Sengun at 1, so far the only player in the draft who's currently the best player on a winning team.

Barnes at 2, if the shooting is real than he's a perennial all star, he made the jump in year 3 everyone expected in year 2.

Mobley at 3, bearly. Situational, you need a dirty-work big man behind him for him to shine, and offensively limited, but JJJ 0.8 is still a fine player to have, even if this is his peak.

Wagner at 4, would be at 3 if his shooting didn't regress this year, been very good otherwise.

Cam Thomas at 5, if that scoring streak from the first 8 games is real, you really can't deny the talent. If it's not, put him at 8.

Jalen Green at 6, the counting and efficiency stats say he's stagnated, but the advanced stats mark him out as one of the most improved of the class, going from a horrendous to a net zero on defense does that. I still don't think we've seen the best of Jalen Green.

    7. Herb Jones, high-tier role player.

    8. Trey Murphy III, another high tier role player who will make 20 mil a year at some point.

Honorable Mention: Jalen Suggs, I had this dude written off as a Jan Vesley-level bust, but his 3 ball has finally come around and he's one of the best defensive guards in the league. A solid role player, even if a disappointment for his draft position

Dishonorable mention: Cade Cunningham, It's been all hype and little reward for him, a dude who's shot significantly worse than Jalen Green for his entire career, still rocks a negative WS/48 in year 3, and a sub-par 7-to-5 AST/TOV ratio. If Jalen Green's Bust Advisory is at yellow, Cade's at DEFCON 2.

It is actually good that teams do not have hindsight......all the good picks would be gone and you would end up with scraps .....

Imagine everyone in the Top 4-5 have Wembanyamas or Sengüns.

Just going to say again that people are being way too harsh on Cade Cunningham, maybe because they want the Rockets' picks to be better?

I want to point out once again that Cade has barely played more than 1 season's worth of games. He simply has not had anywhere close to the in-game experience of most of his peers.

I also want to point out that he is the only player from his draft class averaging over 20 points and over 6 assists right now (22.2 and 7.1). Yes, he is having some fairly-significant struggles with shooting efficiency and turnovers, and he's being given a lot of usage on a bad team, but those are still great numbers for a guy who is essentially starting his second season in the league, above and beyond what I think you'd expect any scrub with the ball in his hands to be able to produce. (Also, his usage is only 13th in the league, so it's high, but it's not that high.)

When you compare him to a guy like Jordan Poole, who has nearly as high of usage, Poole is averaging 17.3 and 3.6. Now that's a bust. Cade isn't there yet. If his efficiency doesn't improve over the course of this season I'll be concerned, but for now I still believe in him putting it all together.

With all of that said I still lean toward Alpi being #1 in my re-draft, mainly due to his efficiency.

    Realized Ime actually went undrafted.

Something tells me Ime sees a bit of himself in Tate.
