1. Jalen Green 2. Sengun 3. Barnes 4.Mobley 5. Cade 6.Wagner 7. Giddey 8. Aldama 9. Murphy 10. Thomas Jalen Green is still the only super star out of 2021....
Barnes is shooting 46.5 FG%, 37.6 3PT%, 75.4 FT%. Compare to Green 42.1 FG%, 33.7 3PT%, 79 FT%. Green is looking worse at shooting. Amen can't shoot and you guys rank him so high. Suddenly for non-Rockets players can't shoot and it is a bad thing. The ranking has nothing to do with upside. The ranking is based on how they are now.
Thats fair… Lack of shooting is a huge knock on Amen. I think he’s an excellent prospect but I would trade him for Cade Cunningham if that offer was on the table.
Green has the slightest of edges over Green in career TS% (.2%) and an edge over Wagner in the small sample size of this season, but they're doing a lot more for their teams than just scoring. And advanced stats across the board give both guys a significant edge over Green in basically every category. Look, I'm more than willing to give Green a chance; I'm not anti-Jalen by any means. I just think some fans have unrealistic expectations based on what he's done thus far in his career. He's got absurd talent, but there's no consistency. Could he still become a perennial all-star? Absolutely. But in a re-draft scenario based on what we've seen from these guys, thus far, I'm probably not taking him top 5. I think that's a fair assessment.
First page, the first three posts had Green higher than at least one if not most of those guys listed, and four of the first six posts did. If you did a poll of Rockets fans on this site, I imagine a large percentage (not necessarily a majority) would still rank Green ahead of those guys. It's not a "narrative," chief; that's reality. And I get it. We want him to be great; I do, too. And when they've dramatically outperformed expectations as a team and we're riding the wave of his last two performances, it's easy to get hyped by that stuff. I was at the Denver game; he looked incredible. But you can't ignore their full bodies of work up to this point, and Green has not stacked up to those guys. He still can. And he's been given a situation now where he has no excuse not to succeed playing around other talented players with a great coach and veterans who will help him grow. But I need more consistency from him, more efficiency and more productivity across the board than just points. Right now, I don't think the average NBA fan would rank him in the top 5 from that draft class, and they'd be right.
This is what I wanted when I asked for opinions. How you think they ranked now, not who might end up better down the road. It could obviously change a year from now, but I meant currently.
#151 in steals....alpi, brooks ,fred, tate before him in steals.......just saying.........not exactly Jordan ranked 2nd in his third year.....expectations I guess..........
1. Sengun 2. Barnes 3. Mobley 4. Franz 5. Green 6. Cam Thomas 7. Jalen Johnson 8. The pedo 9. Trey Murphy 10. Herb
I made a poll thread to accompany this one. https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/poll-2021-re-draft-as-of-november-2023.321626/
Another day, another example of Cade Cunningham’s Pistons being blown out by a terrible team while Cade chucks a million shots.
Like I said spoken like a guy who hasn't watch green b part of a team that's rank 1 in defense rating. All i see is u looking up stats and throwing it out there. Green has to b a positive on the defensive end for us to b rank 1 which is just a rebutal to your claim that his defense is "sus".
I think this is better revisited at the all star break. Need to give Jalen a half season with Ime to really know what we have. If Jalen gains consistency it changes how we evaluate Jalen.
The Silas effect. Assuming he's the Offense Coordinator, it's the same shtty stuff that he was running here. Same stuff in Dallas, but the guy doesn't seem to realize that neither KPJ nor Cade are on the same level as Doncic... Such a moron. He seemed intelligent, son of a coach, so looks good on the surface, but he's got nothing really.
