On the contrarian side: I don't think Bob Stoops gives a si!t about coaching anymore

Yall really need a "Mack Brown" who has roots at UH (North Carolina) and wants to come out of retirement to set the program right...unfortunately that guy does not exist.

If TAMU doesn't hire Traylor away from UTSA, yall would be fools not to.

Traylor, Fritz, Briles (Kendal), Helton. All these guys have significant Houston/Texas experience.

If you want to expand beyond TX, you have Cignetti, Beck, Chadwell, and Sumrall.

Point being, there are guys out there whom I'd rather give a two-year trial to than watch Dana flail and spit for one more season.

The last two hires have been absolute duds. You miss on a third and that’s going to be a decade of football irrelevance.

I never paid attention to West Virginia and thought Holgorsen would bring an exciting, innovative offense that he had when he was in Houston years ago... Instead, he’s just been a bore, on and off the field. He has that Red Bull shtick but doesn’t seem to have much energy. He always looks befuddled or exasperated. I hear him talk and can’t imagine he’s giving many inspiring pre-game speeches or captivating/persuasive sales pitches to recruits and their parents. Some people are just better suited to be coordinators.

Gary Patterson. It's perfect. Just let him finish the year with UT.

Today is my birthday. I quit celebrating birthdays a long time ago but I could not ask for a better birthday present. Good riddance. Don't let the door hit you in your better side on the way out the door.

I hope we did not have to pay the whole $14M to get rid of him. He should have to pay us for the damage he has done to our football program. Can't wait to find out who his replacement is.

Dana was phoning it in. He rarely ever out coached anyone and wasn't a good recruiter either. Extremely disappointed in how he turned out but was warned from the beginning by people who knew him better than me how it would end. He basically killed all the momentum that had been building for UH football for years. What a disaster.

Tulane’s Willie Fritz and UTSA’s Jeff Traylor are among the top targets. - Thamel

Names to ponder: Willie Fritz, Jeff Traylor, Barry Odom, Gary Patterson - Ross Dellenger

Traylor would be perfect. I'd also look at Barry Odom.

Nah - you didn’t catch the quote from Tilman? “I’m still paying Stephen (Silas). I don’t pay people to not work. Silas has coached in the NBA. He can certainly coach amateur football with college kids. Plus the money I will save can be used for an addition on my yacht.”

That was the most shocking thing to me: just how boring his offenses were. He spent the ~20 years before this job at Tech, UH, Okie State and WV and they put up points constantly.

The key is having an explosive system that can take advantage of our ability to recruit speed. But options are limited.

Not going to pretend to know enough about all the candidates, but this impresses me. Seems like a winner.

“Traylor had a 12-win season in 2021, 11-win season in 2022, both times winning the Conference USA championship. UTSA is in position to reach the American Athletic Conference championship game and is guaranteed a fourth straight bowl appearance on Traylor’s watch. He led his hometown Gilmer to three state championships and is a favorite among Texas high school coaches.”
