I would keep Tari over Bari but it looks like the trio of Bari, Green and Sengün is set....... Tari is the only guy that is 22 and getting a massive reduction of playing time. As much as Momster wants him to play in Houston, the agent will make clear to him that there is a market outside of Houston. He has to be a starter level dude to earn close to max earnings. We are past any discounts at a point = strictly business.
Tari is only now getting to full strength after recovering from injury. Its not clear how much playing time he will get going forward.
Sure but it is going to be a problem regardless due to having Dillon and having Amen who is actually a wing and Cam also. I suppose Tate is going to stay as well. I am pretty sure Tari would prefer staying but any other guy would not.
I see Amen reducing Holidays minutes, not Tari's. Cam is in development and may never get lots of minutes, for a while anyway. As for Dillon, I think Ime will give the best guys the most minutes, regardless of their contracts. If Tari outperforms Dillon on the court, Tari may not lose minutes there either. If he doesnt, then Tari's reduced minutes are justified. Tate is a wildcard for me. I really dont have a good read on his future.
I don't really agree with that. I think it's important that at least one eventually hits "superstardom" level, and I think Sengun as the best shot. If you look at prior rookie extensions, it's pretty clear that Sengun, if he continues to perform at this level, should get the max. I also think it's very likely that either Green or Smith Jr. will also get the max, or very close to it (like Bane, who extended for 5 years, 197). The question will become if Green or Smith Jr. signs a big but less-than-max contract, similar to Vassell (5 years, 135) or McDaniels (5 years, 131). My only point is that even if all three turn out to be max worthy, it should be quite viable to sign all of them even with Brooks' contract. The finances will be tight, but that's not a bad problem.
I get that but he will be far behind Green, Sengün and Bari for a lot of his young career. While he wants to be on a winning team, players have put money above that first.... He can only get close to max money when he is a full time starter or putting up decent enough numbers, that is just how things are..... and that is clearly not from a fan perspective, that is normal right now. Given that he is the oldest among the core members, he will be the hardest pressed one. If he is okay with being the 4th or 5th option for 2-3 years then he lacks the ambition to be someone greater, I am sorry for not being sorry about the truth.
We can afford to pay one of them My best case was taking into account we dont know which, if any of them, will break out all the way to the top.
You were impatient with Sengun too. He’s already maxed out! Remember that? The only player you have been patient with is KPJ, even though he’s older and has a shitty history. I wonder why.
All good points, but I don’t think we’ve seen what Tari is cabable of yet. He’s only been playing for a few games. Once he hits his stride with Ime, he’s going to be our most valuable player off the bench. People forget that he was our best shooter not named KPJ or Eric Gordon last year. He legit looked like he improved over the summer. I’m not saying he’s gonna be a max guy, but his ability to be a two-way player with huge defensive chops, and the rare super charged motor…if you are trying to build a championship team for the long haul, I don’t think you let a guy like Tari go. He’s still developing; I think the ceiling is gonna surprise.
I am only saying that from the perspective of his internal team....not from our org's..... If he is just a role player, cool, we roll with a 15-18 million contract, should be doable. If he is ambitious then he will look for 28 -30 mllion IMHO.....and 32 minutes per game. KPJ if he was not a violent head case, he could turn into a 30 million/year player if he turned into a team player.
Great post. Posters need to be held accountable for their lazy takes and assessments. It will promote more intelligent discussion on the boards, and we could use that. Not a slight at DD specifically, because he can be an intelligent poster, but he does let bias dictate a lot of his input on the board.
Biggest troll on the board calling me out for trolling. Good stuff Bob. It's ok we all know deep down you're just pissed because the young guns are making you look like a clown right now. You really should talk to someone about your issues because for a guy who claims to be a fan of a team yet hates on them even when they're good might have a problem. Just saying. BTW the search function is there if you need to read some positive takes to get some inspiration. Plenty of the fans have them. Might not want to check @Bobbythegreat though. There's none there.
I have full confidence that Cam is going to be that as well....and more....on both ends, I think Cam is the better Offense player. I guess that is the civil war that is going to break out. Good internal rivalry.
Tari has the lead in development, experience and maturity. But if Cam somehow closes the gap, its a war I look forward to.
Kid, I've made nothing but positive posts since the 3rd quarter of the game before the nuggets game.... that's why I know you aren't to be taken seriously. When things are bad, I say things are bad and you whine like a b****, when things are good, I say things are good and you still whine like a b****. Your obsession is unhealthy, try touching some grass for a bit and see if it helps.
I have a personal rule that I dont claim a fact I cant back up. Sure, I have crossed that line a few times, more than a few, often to my own regret. But if the forum as a whole adopted the same, the GARM would be a much more informative and fun place.
I think DD's posts are often for shock value and that he doesnt even believe some of the alleged facts he posts himself.
