I said the same thing about KPJ before his incident. You got to give players time to develop, I must admit, I was impatient with Jalen's play lately too.
I let that slander slide last time you responded to me, because we are mutually trying to recover from Silas PTSD, so I allowed it. But now that it's continuing, at least tell me where your slander calling me a hata comes from? You know I'm in RocketsWatch putting up with the Jalen bashing almost daily. It gets boring. You said, "You really haven't been paying attention to what I'm saying." Now I get it. You're arguing with hatas, and you threw me into that bucket. ... sigh If you want to talk about basketball and what we are seeing on the court, during Jalen's growth period, I'll leave you with this.
Turns out, you shouldn't give up on 1st and 2nd year players when they haven't had a real leader to teach them or hold them accountable when needed. Imagine that.
I feel sorry for some posters who won't be able to enjoy the Rockets ascending the next few years because they've been too busy trying to defend their **** takes and behavior of the past few years on the board and have dug themselves a deep hole of bad will. Sucks. Hopefully you guys have a good friend circle in real life to enjoy discussing rockets basketball with to actually enjoy the rise.
Leave it to you to take something positive and still find a way to troll about. Good Job Bob! And if I'm tossing you some tampons it's because you sound like you need them.
Kid, you were attempting to troll, just like with everything else you post. It's tiresome, mostly because it's so lazy and unintelligent. Try to be better.
Every Rockets fan should be praying for Green to work out. If he becomes a consistent 25+ scorer, the core of Green/Brooks/Smith Jr./Sengun will wreck teams for the next decade. There’s perfect synergy amongst their skill sets. And that’s not even including Amen and Whitmore’s potential.
Unfortunately, we wont be able to keep this core together even half that long. When their rookie contracts start expiring, we wont be able to pay them all. Better enjoy them while it lasts.
Jalen Green had a grand total of 3 turnovers: One was an unforced turnover trying to dribble behind his back in first quarter. Another was when he got trapped on the baseline and tried to kick it out to Jabari in the 2nd. Another was when he got mobbed on the right side of court at the 3 point line but didn't get the foul call. He tried to pass it to Alpi but Alpi didn't seal Jokic and he went around him for the steal. So yeah, I'm calling BS on your assessment. No big deal though. You certainly aren't the first "fan" to let bias shade their perception.
First evaluation: Tari is likely gone as he could potentially be a 15-17 ppg scorer but has to get minutes to improve his finishing. I think Sengün, Green and Jabari (friendly contract) can be retained........ One of Amen and Cam is probably gone as well.....
There was a Reddit thread about this the other day--maybe @BimaThug can chime on on how realistic it is.
We’ll see. Let’s say, best case, Green, Smith Jr. and Sengun all continue to break out and are worthy of the rookie max. That’s about forty mil a year. With Brooks’ contract, that’s about 140, just above the current 136 mil luxury cap threshold and way below the 176 mil first apron level, both of which should be higher under the next tv deals. This is why it is important to have consistent draft capital going forward.
Best case, IMO, is that all these guys game tops out 1 tier below superstardom. And the players in turn dont demand max contracts and/or they put staying together above seeking out every dollar the market might bear.
You don't need to be a superstar to get max contracts. If these guys don't ever deserve max contracts then they failed in development. Max contracts just means solid core piece of a winning team, not superstar.
