ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Clippers 11/17/2023

I haven’t seen the last 6 games. Tonight I watched a tough loss but what a team we have coming together. They need to hold their heads up high - they are playing the right way!

 

If the Clippers don’t want Westbrook, I’ll take him here to be our 6th man. He’s got that dawg in him.

 

I want those refs to suffer man.

 

People are just mad at the mistakes he made at the end. He will hopefully learn from them. Jalen really doesn't know what it takes to win. He's going to remember this game the rest of the season. Hopefully he is better for it.

 

High school kids know that, it's not an excuse anymore

 

The game could have went either way….we can beat them at home with better shooting….we will learn from this and get better

 

15 point win for the Rockets if these refs didn't have a spread to cover like their lives depended on it.

 

That really really sucked, but our guys weathered multiple storms and were right in it to finish if not for some dumb mistakes by Jalen and a weird call on Jae’sean.

The main takeaway for me is: our defense is real. We weren’t perfect on that end, but there was constant communication and I could see the guys working out kinks as they went along. It seems every single player is bought in, and it’s fun to see.

We’re still a growing team under a new system. We can’t win them all. But these sort of late-game reps that actually MATTER is what will actually teach our guys, and I’m certain that they’ll grow from this.

The Clippers might have gotten the best of us this game, but I’m certain that no team wants to face the Houston Rockets

 

We really need some rim protection.

 

I said I wasnt going to complain but Jalen? This guy!! I swear, I just don't know what to say.

His shot gets blocked, when he should have pulled the ball back out, he then turns the ball over on another possession.....thats the game right there

 

Pretty much.

If the refs called this fairly we'd have about 10 more FTs.

They did not, so we lost. It is what it is.

 

lol...just saw the box score. Harden not only gets his first win as a clipper, but he clinched it with a 4pt play. oof.

 

Congrats to the refs and clippers for a great win, Rox can’t win them all

If it takes an heroic Harden 3 point buzzer beater for the Clips to beat an upstart Rockets team, they are screwed. We won 6 games in a row by playing fundamentally sound basketball. I’d take the Rockets over the Clippers in a best of 7 playoff series.

 

This is a joke, right?

 

As bad as the officiating was, I can’t even be mad about that at this point. Rockets had an opportunity to win despite calls not being in our favor, leaving points at the line, and making rookie mistakes like Tari throwing a boneheaded full court pass that’s intercepted into a 3 for the Clips to end the third quarter. Or Jalen Green pushing tempo when we’re up 5 with slightly over a minute to go when all he had to do was run time for a better shot, then turns the ball over the very next play. Just gotta grow and learn but this one kinda stings especially with Harden having his revenge game

 

I'm not a Green hater, but he does need to have a good sit down and rewatch the 4th quarter with Udoka.
