Ok I'll bite. What does Crane not having a GM in place for most of the off season have to do with the Rangers winning the World Series or Diaz not winning ROY?
Maybe you’re right, you’ll never know either but if there was ever a time to **** around and FIND OUT it was with Diaz…….
Reminder... Pat Riley stuck with John Starks despite him going 2 for 18 in Game 7. The whole city of Houston thanks you, Pat.
I can’t believe anyone still interacts with either of the two people I assume are driving this “debate” (I have them both muted). If a person shows you repeatedly they can’t understand basic logic, you are the illogical one for arguing with them.
Im not arguing with anyone myself but when it’s brought up and there are fallacies to be debated then sure I’ll chime in. I knew Dusty in no way was going to do anything different so I settled in, accepted it and hoped for the best but the reality is no one will ever know the outcome had Diaz been our starter.
Eh, it’s a board, as long as people are following the rules then vent here as long as you want. Gonna be a long offseason….
Totally fair…I get tired of reading it, so I’ll vent about that and not break rules either. Ironically, I agree with almost all of the criticism directed towards Dusty, but geez the negativity is exhausting. Just seems like there’s an entire thread devoted to it if people insist on dwelling on it.
Amen I was not on board with Dusty But he is retired. Good for him, great career as a player/manager He is retired now though. So regardless of where you stand, it would benefit all of the dusty talk was kept in Dusty thread and we could move on in other threads I mean we are by far the most successful organization in the last decade, we should be able to discuss the future of our dominance
I dont know what the baseball community at large feels, but I consider us underdogs to win the division this coming year. That is a feeling I am not used to and havent felt in some time. Espada could help some, but short of a big splash move I am not expecting, it will be tough. Not saying we cant get it done. Just that we are going to have to work harder in the regular season than Arlington and Seattle to accomplish it.
Astros need a Therapist, Sports Psychologist for Kyle Tucker, Framber Valdez, Jeremy Pena. Plus a Trainer, Chef that can teach Cardio to Pitcher Christian Javier
We will have to wait and see. We got the better of the Rangers in the regular season and had them on the ropes in the playoffs… we almost won the series in 5 games even… had the won the discussion would be completely different. Rangers had some career years, but they also have Evan Carter emerging and will likely add two fairly large additions. The Astros will fill a couple holes and possibly make a large addition if it works out.
Framber Valdez and Jeremy Pena were nails in 2022 post season - it’s just a coin flip. Christian Javier’s arm bounced back after a long post season and WBC and early season domination… but was really bad in game 7…. What he needs is some rest and he needs to take off season fitness seriously. For the Astros part they need to rest him when he starts to lose velocity… it isn’t rocket science either. They pitched him and Valdez when their velocity went down and their performance cratered… rest them. Hell get Paul Blackburn or Austin Pruitt to start a few times for them in August.
