I really like our starting lineup. Im interested in building the bench out with an impact 6th man that works well with our timeline and upgrading from Landale. Nets pick (top 10 protected)+Jock+Dipo for Javale McGee and Huerter Sengun/McGee Smith/Eason Brooks/Huerter Green/Holiday FVV/Amen
Second time in 2 days you typed very close to what I was thinking. I think McGee would be a great fit here. Can start on occasion when Smith or Sengun are hurt... play with either one in bench lineups... fills a role and need
Huerter may be a “core piece” but they will needs assets to make a jump via trade at some point. I could see them going for a lotto pick.
Yeah I agree with that. I started on the trade machine today (before I saw Francis post) and couldn't figure out a good deal for both parties in 5 mins or so then I went back to work lol
Landale+ Oladipo (expiring) + 2 2nd rounds for Capela. It works salarywise, and Atlanta reduces their salary commitments next year
Pass on Capela, rather have someone who's going to be available for 70+ games, not on the trainer's table for 70+ games.
Dipo+Landale+Whitmore+Smith+Brooklyn 24 and 26 for JJJ and Luke Kennard. Sengun/JJJ JJJ/Eason Brooks/Kennard Green/Holiday FVV/Thompson
Was poking a little fun at Fattz who has been coming up with trade proposals for Green "while his trade value is high"
I don't think the Nets pick will be better than anyone in our top 7 unless if they hit top 3, which even then it's a weak draft. Whitmore is a nice prospect, but not anywhere close to JJJ. By doing this trade we are digging our toes even deeper in trusting in our young core essentially becoming what Memphis could've been... The difficult part of the trade to me is essentially Smith, the 2026 pick for JJJ I am still high on Smith but I I'd do this trade. We'd be setup nicely as one of the best young cores in the entire NBA while being a playoff team now. I don't think Memphis does it though
Im thinking Memphis is 9-21 by the time Morant has game legs under him. They can’t really count on him and have lost Brooks and Adams. This trade makes there 2024 pick better along with what will likely be a pick in the mid teens bit that holds the potential of being unprotected. Both Smith and Cam are high level prospects. Jackson is a stud but you could argue that Smith/Whitmore/lotto potential all have higher ceilings. So to me it makes sense.
Would happily do it. We would have our long-term core put together I think. Just have to hope Tilman would be willing to pay them all. In the meantime, JJJ would immediately make us a playoff team (if we're not already) or vault us up a couple of seeds (if we're already there).
We need a backup center and a consistent scoring threat off the bench. Maybe Londale can play himself into the backup center. Even when Amen comes back, we still need another scoring threat. We need to upgrade from Tate and Holiday. I think the perfect guy would Malcolm Brogdon.
