Does anyone else think this guy is funny? If you havent seen it you should, the friday shows are very funny when he edits the news. If you dont like him who to you is a better late night host?
Somehow Conan and his "I am a dork with big hair" routine is still funny to me. For me, Conan > Kimmel = Kilborn
At first I really didnt like Kimmel at all. He came off as somewhat insensitive and racist. But hey, he's a comic. But now, I like him much better. I really enjoy the bits where he shows funny clips from the news and other tv shows. I really like that aspect of it. The week he had Tyson on as a guest host was tv magic for the boxing fan. Oh no, thats bad I cant stand Kilborn thank god he will be gone soon..I just hope it doesnt happen to the Kimmel show soon..
Ditto to ROCKETFAT's response. synergy, Let KIMMEL show some EMMY power, and he can contend with the DAVEster. Even though Dave Letterman's skits, sketches, music and regular guests are repeated, they manage to keep a steady audience, and he's done it this long... That's like saying "at first I didn't like Christina Aguilera, but now I do" and then ranking her above MADONNA. Dave is an established late night host, Jimmy has been doing too many things at once, and can't keep other things he does on "weekends" like the NFL picks, the special shows on Comedy Central, and other stuff while he's doing the late night thing. Do one thing, and do it right. Dave is the man. I give Jimmy his props, but he's got way too long before he becomes better than Dave. I'm also inclined to say he's close to being as funny as Jay Leno.
Kimmel's understated delivery kills. I really like the way he maintains an air of believability all the way up to the punchline. For me it Jon Stewart at 10, Letterman at 10:35 and Kimmel at 11:05 on a nightly basis. I never watch the guests on Letterman and Kimmel. When Jon Stewert has political guests or authors I watch but if he has entertainment guests I'll flip over to sports. I find Lenno painful to watch: partly because I grew up with Johnny Carson I guess. Yea, Dave's been doing the same ol' crap for 20 years he's comfortable when I'm sleepy.
