Its as good as regular season wins, it means jack **** in the scheme of things.

Which players said that? Please tell me. The reason it was good was not because of the tourney, you guys act like its the in season tourney making these games better but they arent. Players arent trying harder than normal.

Sam do you have to be jerk about this? Why not have a discussion without the snarky jokes?

 

Didn’t watch but looks like Greta Van Fleet came up big at the end. Good job, Rockets!

 

We shouldn't give up on him. He's had a couple of good games. I do think most of his problems are mental though. That's hard to overcome. He should focus on defense first, this should help to unlock his offense.

 

He should have just stuck it out in Philly. Jumped a sinking ship in Houston and Brooklyn but so far it looks like he was the problem in Philadelphia.

 

Damn this win has Sam Cassell big balls vibe. I honestly thought heading to the 4th we would lose this one. The Pelicans were really like Pelicans - tall, lanky and fast. Ingram was on fire tonight. We had some missed opportunities on fast breaks (poor execution by Bari and Tate). Sengun needs to work on his free throws. But man, Rockets hung in there down the stretch - some great defensive stops and Brooks able to contribute enough in the end. FVV is clutch - he IS da man. Udoka has the Rockets under control, great coaching. I'm loving this team so far.

 

Coaching masterpiece by Ime and awesome to see VV earning that paycheck! What the heck was that Vegas foul against Tari Eason in the last 3 seconds?

 

Udoka should trust Sengun to shoot his one legged jumper on a regular basis. It's almost unstoppable. This will add another valuable wrinkle to our offense.

 

No need to be down on him. He's 20. I think he'll cement himself as the third best player on this team in a few years and in a few years he's 23 lol. And that's when hopefully we are actually contending so he'd be the third best player on a contender.

 

Ya but seriously he's still doing too many pump fakes at the 3 pt line.

Probably my only criticism of him this season. Pretty minor in the grand scheme of things.

 

I didn’t attack you, and you read more into my post than its intent. I did mean what I said that the idea of worrying about who is closing games for this team today is foolish because the Rockets need to learn how to win games, and the way to do that is by winning games. The veterans know how to handle late-game situations right now, whereas the younger Rockets are still learning the nuances of doing so. Anyone could have made that post, and I would have said the premise of worrying about who is taking late-game shots right now is foolish, silly, not necessary, etc. Just live in the moment and enjoy the fact they are winning games, especially one like tonight.

I'm being real here.....he had pure sh*t for coaching last year...pure and simple. SSS(Smilin Stephen Silas) was a DISASTER. He doesn't know exactly where he fits in....I think Jalen and Alpy in their 3rd year reinforce what total shart coaching they received.

He's definitely physically not there..where he needs to be or where he's going to be. I think he, Jalen, Tari to some extent, and Amen don't fully understand the NBA game.They are YOUNG. Except for a generational talent, it normally takes a couple of years to understand the NBA game and, that's with good coaching..which we definitely have not had.

Describe what you expect from his game personally..... what is your expectation in terms of shooting, scoring, rebounding, defense etc ? What was your expectation for him coming in ?

 

Nothing is silly in my opinion, if you are not worried, you do not make progress, that is how it is.

I am not like your average poster, I do worry, so let it just be my thing. I am sure you would not be concerned tomorrow or next week with me.

But in case of oversharing, I do not have mental problems, those worries would not cause me harm.

I am not dependent on sports to make me feel better, it should not be for elder people.

But yes, if it were a blowout, I would have been less stressed.

 

I like the tournament.

Since its just regular season games I don't think it takes away from anything and I agree with you that I don't think players are playing harder but I do think when it comes down to the final 4 those will be playoff games, the money does matter to players, even if they are millionaires an extra 500k or whatever it is, it's money...and there's a trophy.

I think the idea of specific courts is good but they are way too loud. That's the only thing I'd change.

Also i think the group stage should just be between teams in your division to make the divisions in the NBA actually mean something.

I was listening to the pelicans broadcast and there was a play where senguin backed his guy down and then shot a left handed hook. The announcers just said something like that is impossible to stop.

I would love to see more set plays for senguin where they either give him the ball and clear out or let him post. He gets in trouble when he is catching and going on a fly in traffic.

 

The scheme of things - sure i mean ultimately the heat death of the universe will conquer all, but on the human created realm of made-up meaning i think it's fine to pretend it's "important" like we pretend games in June are important or that the NBA is important or that sports are important.

It's all pretend! The super bowl is pretend! Entropy is the real MVP!

Sure, it was Kevin Durant talking to Quentin Richardson during the Hoopervision stream of last Friday's OKC-GSW game (which was a great game, and the Warriors were acting like they won the title afterwards rather than a Friday game in Oklahoma in October)
