Sark said on Monday he’s been sending videos to the conference all season long. Think he said Sweat hasn’t had a single holding call on him. Insane.
Assuming (big if) we win out... We either need: FSU to lose a game or Alabama to win out and win the SEC championship in order to make the playoffs. I think Oregon will be ahead of us in any scenario if they end up winning out.
If UT wins and Ewers look good then we might be pushed back into the national conversation for the next few weeks. Still, this def looks like a team that can lose any of their last 3 regular season games. Feels like we have been pushing our luck for a while.
I think a few things have contributed to our recent swoon: Injuries, especially on defense. UH really exploited our hurt secondary in that game. Sark getting too cute with play calling. Hopefully Auburn got some confidence back last week, but Sark's constant risk taking on fourth down has left plenty of points on the board starting with four straight runs at the OU goal line that didn't convert. Murphy's turnovers nearly cost us against Kansas State so hopefully that's mitigated with Quinn back. I agree that we could easily lose the next two games. Night time in Forth Worth and Ames is a different beast against motivated, last-time-ever opponents. I feel confident we'll win at home against Tech.
Also looks like a team that should break one out for a 50 point beat down on a lesser opponent. They should have destroyed Houston but they didn't put their foot down and Sark started calling the game is over plays after we were up 17. Just like last game, Nobody can cover Mitchell, Worthy or Sanders. Those are all NFL guys.
I think Ewers might have gotten hurt earlier in the UH game which might have contributed to the huge shift in scoring.
This is the type of beat down I was hoping for for our last time in Fort Worth. Hoping we don't collapse again in the second half.
That's damn near a guarantee.. Momentum will swing on a Sark special .. A butt clinching type finish is the only way UT can function nowadays..
