Sengun is the franchise player. But we don't need to care who the franchise player is, we care about the team winning. Both statements are true at the same time.
if you say so. just seems to me that SENGOOFS seem to be a bit on edge today with Al Pee's ankle being sore
no shtick, and I am enjoying the ride. I just don't need to sing Sengun's praises 24/7, 365 a year to do it
Nobody needs to do anything, but the kid is already better than you and a few others thought he would ever be, and the Rockets benefit from it. Clearly, he is not doing it alone, but all it took was a a coach who would not hold him down and a couple of good veterans instead of this dipshit KPJ to unlock him, and to unlock team success for the Rockets. It's not a good look to act as if that annoys you. I just enjoy seeing the Rockets play the way they do now. I haven't seen any of the so-called "Sengoofs" obsess over individual accolades for him. Even when Ime pulled him two rebounds short of a triple double or pulled him early when he could have had an epic assist record - who cares, what matters is that the Rockets win. That's the spirit of this thread, I was one of the first people to like it. You are the only one desperately trying to create a contradiction where there isn't one.
Really love the makeup of the team, oil free. The most interesting player is Dillon Brooks, The Mad Villain. Who just happens to be a great teammate. You saw it with the Canadian team. The Most charismatic players are Alpi and Tari. Silent leader is Jalen. He is the most chill but won't hesitate to slap or call out a veteran who is out of order. (See Jabari and Wood incident) FVV, cliche floor general but he does have the will power to get others the ball without bad body language. Tate, a best friend to everyone and a fellow Stroudie. Boban, the most lovable by all fan bases. Jabari, won't shy away from the moment,
It's funny to think if this board would ever have believed in Steph Curry's glass ankles as a franchise 1A and Klay Thompson (an off ball 3&D player) as a good enough 1B to win a title. Hell they would have been sh*tting on Draymond for not being an inch taller. The players we have are much better than we think. I've spoken endlessly about how the past 2 years artificially depressed their performance and stats. We're going to see a bounce back and hopefully catch up soon. I said it before last season and I'll say it again: there's a dynasty brewing here even if 1 or 2 guys have to be replaced. We will have 3 All Stars at minimum within the next 3 years.
What I like about Ime Udoka so far is his take charge interaction with the players. Dude is always coaching players up and seems to have their respect.
That's a lot of words to say "I post 10x in every thread tangentially related to Sengun to act like I'm the one without an agenda". May the stupid "franchise player" threads rest in peace.
Lol, to be honest, i’m one of the most excited when we trade for Sengun (i even post in the Sengun draft thread).. 18 years old MVP with a lot of post move and great skill.. i mean, we have legacy of bigs and i became Rockets fan because of Hakeem.. bring back the center era! BUT as long as we always win boringly, i don’t care who is our franchise player
When it comes to franchise players there can be more than one guys. Look at Sabonis and Fox. No one can tell who's more important some nights it seems like Sabonis is more important and some nights it looks like Fox is more important. The Rockets more than likely will be in the same mold in that we don't have THE franchise player like Gainnis or Luka but multiple and that I think can result in long term success. Look how hard it is for the Mavs even after getting a generational talent just to make the playoffs.
Turns out that unboring win is also exciting! i don’t mind if we win +3 points like tonight for maybe 5 times a year but next game vs Clippers, we better win boringly! Make Harden and Westbrook ashamed!
