Setting aside the absurdity of measuring his impact on a series by using performance in half of one game, Yainer is a superior defender to Maldonado as well. He could have given us the spark needed to go 4-3 in the ALCS instead of us going 3-4. Could have been the difference in advancing to the World Series and winning our 3rd championship.

    To add on to this.

Diaz wasn't getting consistent playing time so his at bats weren't as productive. Can't expect someone to be hot at the plate every chance they get when they miss a couple games, play one game, and miss a couple more games.

If Diaz was playing every game he could've been more comfortable at the plate, saw the ball better off the pitcher's hands, and felt less pressure potentially.

It's different for someone that's used to being a pinch hitter for example. They feel comfortable in that role and know how to prepare for those situations more.

Just because you've won once with 3 7 off suite doesn't mean you should when you can play queen king.

Bring back Lunhow and promote Espada. Best offseason ever.

Seriously ? This is beyond idiotic

first, he’s a rookie they are the last ones that should be expected to come in cold turkey and hit.

Not only should he have been starting as many games and getting as many abs at possible in the post season so he would be in position to make impact plays…. Freakin dusty barely even played in the last two weeks and then you had a week off. No one should be expected to play at a high-level in that situation going into the postseason.

When Dusty said the fans will thank him later he meant fans of the Rangers.

I also thank him for, like an alligator, dragging his crusty ass on out of here.

I think all the AL playoffs should be played at Globe Life Field.

Imagine if Maldy didn’t allow 3 stolen bases in one inning...

I really hope we do not drag this **** out like we did with Dana Brown, especially with Free Agency starting today.

I am worried this is going to be two extremes this offseason. Either we make some badass, earth shattering signings, or we're going to get screwed and take a step back. Do not know why I get that feeling, but its there for me.

Generally, managers don't have a lot of input in free agency. They may know/like players - but the lack of systems in baseball makes players essentially interchangeable. Not talent-wise, of course - but just in terms of filling a roster. Most of the slots are pre-determined and managers are fine to work with what they're given.
