I'll eat this guys dick too if Dillon keeps shooting 50/60 for the season.

Brooks has a career EFG of 48% across 6 years and 10k minutes, right now it's 72%. This is a cruel joke god is playing on us, Dillon is about to miss every shot for a month.

Chris Vernon was talking all kinds of trash about how he was so happy to see Dillon go from Memphis. Guess how many wins Memphis has without Dillon Brooks this season?

There's this post on the Grizzlies subreddit...

Although it's now November and the guy is the best shooter in the NBA...definitely not sustainable, right?

Law of averages says he's going to be a poor shooter soon...

Then would you give this guy the max if he had a great season?

There is question if he would replicate that production everywhere he goes.....

There are situations with players who get that big contract and then fall off.

20+ million I think is very good value for that production but I am not sure Stone is even aware of Dillon being a scorer, in his interviews he praised his Defense only.

Or that Dillon would carry a team as the No 1 or No 2 scorer on a team.

Otherwise Stone would not have emphasized Internal Growth, DB is a grown player.

I’m waiting on a slightly larger sample size before updating my Dillon Brooks thread but the gist is that he is taking a completely different shot profile here under Ime, exactly like I predicted. No he won’t sustain 66% from three, but 1. He’s taking better shots so he should be more efficient than the past 2. His usage is down so even when he misses it will hurt the offense less.

I 100% agree, but incremental improvement is nothing to eat a dick over.

His offense isn't what I'm watching, its his defense that's the difference maker. If Brooks keep playing with this type energy 95% of this board will need to apologize

Honestly if he can just reliably produce at roughly average efficiency that will be much more than I expected and more than good enough given his defensive contributions. He will not continue to be even an above-average offensive player, let alone knock down 60% of his threes, that's a given. But if he finishes the season at like 43% from the field/ 35% from three / 54% TS% that's good enough for me to call the signing a successful one.

I was very very wrong. I thought he would be a bad dude, an inefficient chucker and make it all about him. So far he’s been a great teammate, has worked within the framework of the offense, has been shooting lights out, hustles harder than anyone else on defense and comes through when we need him most. Hope this continues, if so our future is bright.

It's a continuation of his 2023 FIBA performance (8 games, 74% eFG). He's going to need to miss every shot for the rest of this year.
