What is even the point of Fled Vlan Vleet?

I've grown to love the signing. It ain't my money. He is like rookie Damon Stoudamire only wider and 10 years older. Only complaint would be to not shoot as much from 2s. Let Green drive to the basket.

 

Fred Honcho > Head Honcho

 

Eradicate all Honchos and go with Grassroot troopers.

 

Both VanVleet and Brooks do fill that role. I expected it of Fred (who's last name I keep misspelling), but have been surprised by the extent Dillon has been a "coach on the floor," especially on defense.

As for Fred's last name, there's s good article in The Athletic about it (link below). VanVleet uses his mother's last name and has been told that it's of Dutch origin. I assumed that it was Dutch, but was glad I could get it confirmed by the man himself. That people, including broadcasters, very often pronounce and sometimes even spell his last name VanFleet does bother him a bit. He's stoic about it, though. VanVleet endures.
