Frustrating thing is we were sold the next Kobe and got Jalen Green. I am okay with trading him, and I hope he goes on to super stardom at his next stop. I truly don’t think he is the next Kobe in a Rocket uniform. I don’t want magic beans (FRP(s)) for him either, because he still has value. (A 20+ point a game for three years is not a fluke). A freshly drafted player that fits our new coach is about the only thing I would want for him at the moment. Orlando’s Black or Detroit’s twin (sizable defenseman, multi potential player to go with Amen and Cam). Both teams could use some extra scoring. I would even add a FRP to make it happen.

Nobody sold you anything.....guys like Fchowd and Mathloom told us he was Kobe incarnate......just trust your own instincts.

Those guys are just vying for bragging rights if Green hits star territory.....it is just an agenda.

We are on our own coming into this world too and we die alone....so guess what.....we will be just fine.

    Hahaha that's an interesting take.

It is better than saying they are mentally insane and using CF just to live out their fantasy.....but okay.

I would not go the lengths to understand why people treat prospects like their spouse... or much better than their spouse.

The only one who should really have bragging rights is @Medicine N Music - he saw what Alpi and Tari can bring before I had even ever heard of them.

Didn't people learn from Sengun? Give JG some time and he will be a beast for us.

Jalen Green is not a franchise player, For me his NBA comparison are..
Zach Lavine - A scorer, Low IQ, Cant defend
Jordan Clarkson - A scorer, Low IQ, Cant defend

    Best scenario:
Devin Booker - Still a scorer and bad on defense but better than above mention.

I don't think you can really knock the kid for "professionalism". He came into the league a kid and is still just 21.
When I was 21 I was a train wreck .... Not gonna judge.
He does appear to have a very good work ethic, he's always in the gym working on what he needs to fix .... That just hasn't translated to the court just yet.

If you asked me, the thing he could work on most is decision making with the ball, whether that be making the right pass or electing not to try and dunk on that big dude in the paint, taking an easier, more makable shot instead. That would go a long way towards becoming a more efficient player.

Hey now .... I was on the Tari train as early as anyone .... might have been the only person on the forum who wanted to pick Scottie Barnes instead of Green or Mobley and he was ROY.

He was my pick, too. I wanted to trade with Orlando which ended with their worst case scenario Suggs. Barnes was slotted the behind Suggs. Giddy was my backup plan then we still had the 8th pick, too.
Barnes, Giddey, Wagner, Bouknight and Sengun. Where my targets. We got one of them.

He doesn’t have a lot of value around the league. You can maybe get a late lottery pick for him. Your best hope is to develop him.

    Whoa there partner...

This is about what I've seen over his whole time here, and what I feel is right for the Houston Rockets. Again, I want to move him while his perceived value is high, and I don't want to pay him. True, that day miight be a ways off, but Stone has waited too long on many of his trades.
What is this stuff about wanting to be right? Being a "hater'.. Some personal quest or somethiing...C'mon, that's juvenile. I've picked you out because I respect you and identify with many of your posts. It's my hope too, that he makes a big leap soon. That's what we all want. But, if it doesn't happen in the vey near future....

The guy was the #2 pick only two years ago, is 21, and has shown, not just shown flashes, but had stretches...His PERCEIVED value/upside by certain teams is still a helluva lot more than a late lottery pick. C'mon now.

Your answer is to hitch our wagon to JG, paying him big money?

This kid's definitely a great athlete, but that doesn't mean he's going to be a great basketball player.

People hate his persona because he paints his nails and mumbles. Andre Johnson mumbled, was timid in front of cameras and genuinely hated speaking into a microphone but the presence that man had on the field was something vicious. I don't care if Jalen goes out there looking like Golddust, if his efficiency numbers are better than his spelling, we're good.

Not sure how one "passively" takes 20 shots but he does it. His intention and focus just seem too lax, yet he's also heavily involved.

Just make the ball go in the bucket dude.

This is the biggest thing. If he does not have value, the conversation is pointless. We keep him until someone's situation makes it easier to sell. And work to develop him meanwhile.

If everyone in Houston knows that Jalen Green sucks and isn't worth more than a pick around 13-17, why do you expect trained scouts paid to watch NBA players to come to a different conclusion?

Zion oozes talent but his body is letting him down. Jalen isn't nearly as talented as Zion he loses his shot when it gets physical. Jalen is extremely good at attacking the rim when there's nobody there to stop him but when there is a traffic on that lane he either tries to dunk on someone and fail miserably or tries some acrobatic layup which usually doesn't result in points and he goes to ft line. He can't finish it when they there is a body in front of him. That's why he has to be reliable from 3pt line to be valuable in this league. Look at Shaedon Sharpe. Even more athletic than Jalen and he's a damn good 3pt shooter. Being athletic is good only when you don't entirely rely on it.

Just when he is getting into form?
    No thank you.
