His shooting will obviously regress to the mean, but the biggest thing I've noticed is he's shooting like 5 FGA less than he has the previous 3-4 years, which is huge. His shot selection improved by miles. If that holds this signing looks a lot better.
Always felt he was a good signing at the price especially since no name bums are getting paid the same if not more than a proven All-NBA defender in Brooks.
Saw some ridiculous stats earlier in the season that said he ranked in the 99th percentile in pretty much every defensive metric, is that true? also i liked the signing initially because i think he gets underrated because of his shot selection. He has been good there so far and that makes him a very good roleplayer
As weird as it sounds, I could see Brooks sticking around for the long haul, ASSUMING Udoka is the guy. Brooks is a perfect Udoka guy, is only 27, and his game should age well.
Brooks is playing like the Rockets were hoping he would play. I love his tenacity on defense and willingness to fit in to the offense. Even on the play where Curry faked him out twice, Brooks was busting his ass to play D which is a welcome sight. He's our Vernon Maxwell on this squad.
It's only weird to think his signing for four years was a mistake if you believe he's going to chuck bad shots all the time. Everything else about his game screams a typical 3&D wing which is an archetype that every team wants several of. He is basically Pat Beverley with lower established level of 3pt shooting but more versatile defensively due to height.
Yeah, I do not understand why every enforcer has to be tossed into the same pot. Pat Bev was a minimum guy playing in Europe and clawed his way back into the league.......while Brooks was always seen as a major rotation guy coming into the league.

The crowning of the brooks signing after 4 games as an unquestionable win is equal to the writing off of any of our young guys after 4 games. A dangerous game.
