I actually don't mind Amen being out - Costco Holiday is probably less likely to make mistakes and it's not like Thompson isn't going to make up those games later

Its a bad game for him in comparison to the rest of the starters who balled their asses off. Anybody who watched the game would know this.

Getting a win feels great. Amen getting injured is the only concern.

The haters got owned and everyone else was vindicated for those things they said - or will be eventually.

if DD really loved the rockets he would keep it to himself. how hard is it to keep your player prognostications to yourself?

our only blessing is DD hates Sengun, lol

With the way Amen was playing this could be a blessing on disguise.

Of course they win playoff games.

What in the world are you talking about.

Not a huge loss with Amen out for 3 weeks. Gives us time to work on some fundamentals while he is rehabbing. That ankle seems to be a problem for him. We can focus on it with our strength and conditioning. What I do find troubling is that we don't have proper guard depth with KPJ departure. Holiday needs some minutes to keep the rust off, but I'd love to see us make a move for a guard who is more a two way guard than the two Nates, but it doesn't seem likely. We'll just have to make VV put in 38 min per game and earn his payday.

He's just struggling the first few games of the season since hes knocking rust out after ankle surgery this off-season. He averaged 23, 8 , 6 last season. I still would do the trade

what did Tate do , working out and not watching atm
    Tate haters

Saying “ tate kept turning the ball over “

nba boxscore credits him with …. 0

now , maybe he had an offensive foul , or missed a gettable pass that was credited to another teammate , but the man keeps playing solid for us

all I know is that he and amen came in about halfway through the first in a game that had 0 defense and changed the tone and the rockets were the first team to play with a semblance of D . We opened up a big lead and didn’t trail again .

even though the starters , who everyone is glorifying, totally let their foot off the gas at the end of the first half and let CHA get within 3 .

Tate does all the dirty work and only those of us who remember what winning team basketball actually looks like give him credit .

Will Amen even make an all rookie team at this point?

Free throw shooting pads your TS%

You cannot rely on free throw shooting to win playoff games because refs call the games differently.

You have to also shoot well from the field; FG%.

Recent champions Jokic, Steph, Giannis, Lebron, Kawhi. All shoot well from the field.

    FG% is still relevant

Wife and I waited to watch the game until after dinner so I’m just finishing watching it now.

I felt like it was a balanced game by everyone, except Amen was largely invisible (before he got hurt) and Jock was terrible.

We saw FVV get targeted on switches in the 2nd and that was a big part in Charlotte’s comeback.

Jalen and Jabari look much better than in the opener - the latter still looks like he’s going to top out as a role player but that’s better than someone who’s destined to be out of the NBA in 2 years. Alpi is a rainmaker on offense but still struggles guarding the rim though that’s less of an issue now that the perimeter D isn’t a sieve. Dillon is as advertised, although he really should limit his passing to swing passes on the 3pt line - every other pass he tried tonight was a turnover.

Bench scoring is the biggest weakness by far. Even when Tari comes back, we don’t have anyone off the bench who can create buckets. Tate tries but he doesn’t have any kind of jumper so that limits him significantly.

All in all a better game, although one that should have been a blowout based on the lead we had in the 2nd. Still a lot of improvement needed.

His situation is the perfect example of oxymoron: "Fatal compassion".

His passion I like, his predictions don't.

You thought it might not be? No, I don't believe that. You were simply making a declaration to everyone else. Those of us who have been around a while know it's real. Heck, and I like DD. He cares about the Rockets. He just has odd opinions from time to time, and sometimes unintentionally tosses out a curse on a potentially important player who might be a big part of our future. It's a hell of a thing. Maybe there's a pill for it. Someone do some research. I can't do it. I might get cursed.

The thing I don't like about tate is he don't score enough. He should be averaging double digits
