Just a note about the whole "is Eddie a 4" debate... Had a couple of conversations at groundbreaking and it is clear that Rudy's intention is to play Taylor and Griffin on the floor together. Rudy is mostly concerned with exploiting matchups and doesn't really care about traditional positions. It sounds like they will play Taylor at 3 on the offensive end but have him guard 4's defensively. The fact is that they will BOTH play at the 3/4 position and, depending on Griffin's game at camp, he could go into the season starting with Taylor. ------------------ Who's your buddy? sounds good to me...but Eddie may be able to dominate offensively with smaller 3's, but on def, what if he goes against CWebb or karl malone, etc? I know he will be able to rebound fine and get blocks on the weak side, but how about stopping bigger and stronger 4s, or will Rudy put Mo on defense when there are those situations? ------------------
Jeff, enjoyed your post last week on the "summer league" intensity/teamwork, etc. What is your take on the thread below started by TMO on the rotating primary 8 players. Thanks, in advance. FREDTERP ------------------
Taylor is going to be playing the same position as Anderson did last year?! Will the offense be tweaked or revamped? I guess they confirmed Taylor is locked to resign. ------------------ "banging Shaq is a whole different expirience"-Pete Babcock Behold the power of quotation
That makes sense. Griffin has the build of a SF (right now), and the game of a PF, Mo has the build of a PF, but also has a lot of the attributes of a SF offensively. They should do well on the offensive and defensive end, and hopefully they can combine to give us about 13 to 15 boards per game. ------------------ What if I say to you that the universe is a three-legged horse, eh? My bad...I read Jeff's post wrong With Mo at 3 offensively and EG at 4 also, Mo can obviously use his size to his advantage, and Eddie his quickness. Eddie could get off his turnaround pretty quickly and easily in the game I saw. Defensively, Eddie can dominate other 3s as long as he dont jump around like a pogo stick for every block, Mo will do an average job with 4s, pretty respectable. The mismatches will be interesting to see. ------------------
Jeff, That is what we have been saying all along. DaDakota ------------------ If you like RTS games, check out this one. www.frontierwars.com coming soon to a PC near you.
Looks like if the Rocks have a chance to set up a D, Griff will try to get to the guy on the weak side. ------------------ Can you smell what Dwayne Johnson is Cooking?

We all know that Rudy likes his 3's to shoot 3's but can Mo shoot them? ------------------ Life quotes: -Statistics are like a bikini; what they reveal is suggestive, but what they conceal is vital.
Actually, Rudy has always had his 3's shooting long bombs because that's what he had at that position. Anderson was a bricklayer at the 3 last year. Matchups are all that count to Rudy. ------------------ Who's your buddy? Who's your pal? I am, aren't I?
