@MRSKILLATRON is inconsolable. I broke the news to her last night. It sucks. Ain't too cool to admit I like Friends. He will be missed.

It really was. I'm a huge West Wing fan (Perry was great in a short run there, too). I loved S60 and NBC pulled the trigger way too fast on that one. I think it was partially due to the early success of 30 Rock, which I believe started the same season and I don't think NBC wanted 2 shows about a SNL-like setting...even if one was more dramatic.

May he rest in peace. He was a funny and talented guy.

Yeah, and also he could have had a cardiac event and passed out. Plus, his “jacuzzi” is the size of a swimming pool.

Them pills did a number on his stomach where he had to get it repaired. Sounded like he was turning his life around. Current reports is saying they didn't find any drugs at the scene. Could be those other reasons people said.

As a show, Friends was a bit low in joke density. Wasn't my kind of show, but I wasn't mad that it was popular. Matthew Perry was a charming dude, he was one of the main reasons it was popular.

A reminder of our own mortality, when the reaper already put an end in one of the Friends

I wasn’t a fan of his but it still sad to hear. As someone about the same age really makes
You think about life and not take it for granted.

Ever since the devastating news broke that Matthew Perry died at the young age of 54 years old, many have been in mourning. , family, and fans have been mourning the sudden loss, and many have been wondering how the cast of Friends has been handling the heartbreaking news. While our hearts are with them as they navigate the grief, insiders claim one Friends star is being quite proactive in ensuring those who Perry loved will be okay.

Insiders have told DailyMail that Lisa Kudrow will not only attend any and all events honoring her departed best friend, but she may even adopt his beloved dog.

    More from SheKnows

“Lisa and cast will all be attending his services. Lisa is also considering taking in his beloved dog Alfred,” the insider said.

Back in 2021, Perry adopted an adorable dog named Alfred, a doodle mix, who he often featured on his social media.

Not only was Kudrow one of Perry’s best friends (who, if the insider is true, maybe Alfred’s new dog mom), but she wrote the incredibly touching forward in his memoir.

For the forward of Perry’s memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, she wrote: “So, I just focused on Matthew, who could make me laugh so hard every day, and once a week, laugh so hard I cried and couldn’t breathe. He was there, Matthew Perry, who is whip smart … charming, sweet, sensitive, very reasonable and rational. That guy, with everything he was battling, was still there. The same Matthew who, from the beginning, could lift us all up during a grueling night shoot for the opening titles inside that fountain.”

Kudrow also revealed the sweet gesture he did for her: he gifted her the cookie jar from the Friends set that became an inside joke between them, which she couldn’t believe. “I think the first thing I asked was, ‘This was so nice—did you get permission?’ I mean, my car used to get searched every night when I left,” she said.

Barstool crowd blaming the Clot Shot and The Jab. It’s true that (leading cause of death in the US) heart disease and cardiac arrest didn’t exist before 2020.

some of the comments here are messed up yall!

maybe he was using again, but maybe not. its entirely possible he had a heart attack while in his hot tub. maybe he was high and passed out and drowned. but at this point its all speculation.

i havent watched a whole episode of friends since the 90's, but i do remember the first few seasons being some great ensemble slap-stick comedy. of the three dudes on the show chandler was my favorite. ross was annoying.

My wife was upset too. We had Friends on during both of our kids' birth because it helped calm her down.

I was shocked to see this yesterday, I read his bio earlier this year and it was fascinating, his drug and alcohol abuse were well documented, but the book really told the story, and he didn't hold back. I still watch this show to this day, and he was fantastic, he details in his book the weight loss and gain on the show and talked about what drug he was on or off depending on his weight. He lost so much in life to get off drugs, alcohol and smoking that I sure hope this was a freak accident and not anything else. He had just played pickle ball for 2 hours and then got in the hot tub and sent his assistant on an errand...........just sad man.

The one where chandler dies. Sad news, whatever the cause. I enjoyed watching friends growing up. He dated Julia Roberts? Wow.

The first thing I ever saw Perry in was Beverley Hills 90210. He played a snobby rich kid and Jason Priestley's character thought he was going to kill his father lol

I absolutely hate the show, friends. There are no fewer than 50 funnier, better shows that were/are less popular or influential.

My own taste aside, it's sad. I feel bad for him, his family and it the cause isn't really important. He still deserves praise and his family still deserves to be able to grieve in private.

I loved both Friends and Seinfeld, and thought they were both hilarious.

Chandler Bing was probably my favourite character in these shows.
