L Late game turnovers & dumb offensive fouls isn't signs of a "high IQ" player. How can you argue he's our best player but can't trust him in late 4th quarters? When Sengun has good games we normally lose. That's not a franchise player
Jalen & FVV had good games. Sengun put up numbers individually, but he made very low basketball IQ plays late. We need Jalen to get more touches as our best player
Alp was the reason the rockets were in that game. And Alp is the best young player, that’s not even debatable at this point. And I’m a big believer in Green and Jabari
Have your opinion about Jalen but you can't have your own facts. Jalen took 20 shots, that's plenty. He was also responsible for probably 4-5 blown coverages leading to easy buckets. What you're saying about Sengun easily applies to Jalen as well, came away with some numbers and made low IQ mistakes. The biggest key too, while Jalen had some shots falling first half it was Sengun who had the hot hand 2nd half. I don't care who it is, if Tate is raining buckets in the 4th they damn well better keep giving him the rock. I'm probably one of the more critical posters of Sengun but he was the one who had it rolling. It doesn't excuse his mistakes but it would've been a bozo move to just stop feeding him.
They were not making free throws even in scrimmages, i wish i could say i'm shocked with their free throw percentages but i am unfortunately not.
It is quite ironic that Silas thinking that Sengun is a bad defender and picking up on him all the time has partially led Sengun to work harder and be a much better defender now. On the other hand, Green, along with KPJ, was never called out for their very poor performances in defense and Green seems to have no improvement. Silas doing something good without meaning it.
No improvement, like non. “The **** y’all getting away with over here, if you go to any other teams you’d be out the f*cking league, you wouldn’t play.” — Wall on Green/Porter Jr.
This was a team loss. Sengun and Green both played good enough to win. It was the supporting cast that let them down, especially Jabari. That doesn’t mean we should give up on everybody not named Sengun or Green, it just means we are a very young team with a brand new (better) coach and systems. FVV certainly had his share of crap moments missing wide open threes and not so hot defense. Then there is Amen, who obviously is struggling with the NBA speed of the game. I still think he has superstar written all over him and will be much improved by year end. Maybe, just maybe, we could give these guys some time with their new coach before writing off their careers or endlessly arguing about who is the better player.
