    Edit: Bonus question: Would the Rockets match a max deal from another team for either of the two players?

    Green gets the bigger offer as scorers are, relatively speaking, paid more. Obviously, I am not overreacting to the first game of the season. Neither gets a max deal and if either is offered a max deal, you let them go. For both, I would expect offers in the 20+ million per year range. Starters in the NBA get 20+ on the open market and Sengun and Green both will be probably be valued as starters.

    I would go to restricted free agency with both

    As of right now, they would get 4 or 5 years, 100-110 million. Rockets will match.

    Jalen Green type players are a dime a dozen. I'd probably just trade him, if he isn't doing that great. Sengun type players are keepers, an easier building block.

    It’s kinda sad that Jalen can have a horrendous season and still get 20M a year based off age and where he was drafted.

    its impossible to predict which teams will have cap space 2 summers from now. so there's no way of guessing what offers jalen and alpy might receive.

    one thing I do know is stone better not make the same mistake he did with KPJ and offer an extension too quickly.

    we have no idea is jalen or alpy are stars, starters, or 6th men. its better to get an extra season of data to see their development. you can always match in RFA so there's no risk.
