So we bring in a kid straight out of high school (except for a few weeks in g league bubble) with zero fundamentals but lots of athleticism. We tell him that we can’t provide anything he needs to learn how to win (i.e. score efficiently and learn defense) for the next two years. No one on the roster will improve their fundamentals. Can’t give him a better coach. Can’t give him spacing. Can’t give him a PG to feed him or a rim protector to cover for him. He and the team won’t be held accountable for anything defensively or offensively. The coaching staff will cede control to the executive who wants the team to lose more than anything in the world. The most brutal losing culture in NBA history other than maybe Hinkie’s Sixers - a garbage level of professionalism than no other rookies on bad teams had to face. After Game 1 of year 3: WHAT THE HELL JALEN IT’S BEEN TWO YEARS AND 1 GAME HOW COME YOU HAVEN’T IMPROVED LIKE OTHER ROOKIES? Too funny.
Maybe part of the board-wide sense of disappointment is on the people who have spent years posting threads like "JALEN GREEN: THE REEMERGENCE TOUR VOLUME XVIIII" and raising expectations - @Mathloom ?
yeah, that’s the thing with @Mathloom I didn’t mind him posting irrational and obsessive content about Green, and I have told him that. I do mind when he lashes out at the posters who have critical and sober view of the kid.
Hey if Jalen takes that step this year it will also demonstrate mental toughness, which is a huge question I have with him. He’s under a microscope and unfortunately for him his first two years didn’t adequately prepare him to be a good nba player. He’s gonna get criticism this year; there’s gonna be highs and lows. But if he comes out the other side of the season having significantly improved, having had to learn a new system, it’s gonna say a lot. I’m rooting for that, but I’m very concerned about his developmental progress. Gonna try to limit my Jalen judgement until at least the all star break. Kid deserves a fresh start with Ime. But he’s got to step up.
That is one richest statements I have ever read on the internet which I guess I started reading around 1992. “critical and sober view” I know damn well you are not talking about yourself. I wouldn’t have the signature I have on here if you anything close to normal criticism for Green. The utter ridiculousness is off any chart that exists in even theoretical physics.
Aaaaaahahahahahhaa. Too true. No other team has a 23 year year old son of an owner practically running the franchise.
That's the problem. The best players ARE starting lol. Jabari and Jalen are going to have to step up big time or else they may as well tank this season. Maybe Eason will prove to be a starter when he's healthy. Amen isn't ready. I don't know if Jeff Green can play starter minutes every game. They need better defenders in the starting lineup. FVV and Jalen together won't cut it. Players like Cole Anthony didn't even have to jump to get shots up over FVV last night and Jalen just isn't a good defender.
I don't like Milli Vanilli on this team. Trade Jalen Green to the WNBA. No f*gg*ts please.. Where in the world is Vernon Maxwell?
Jalen Green sucks. No handle, no shot, even less defense. His body is a genetic gift, but that IQ is something from a Carlos Mencia bit.
Jalen Green is being a fake tough guy. He’ll probably hit the weights harder for a week or 2 then fall back into his mentally soft ways. Seriously this has about as much effect as Glass Joe making a call-out.
If I was ownership I'd be meeting with both Stone and Ime and have some serious conversations about their long term look for someone that feels it ok to post this type of stuff. One plus to having HH on the team is that he deflected a lot of blame off of Green and onto himself. That isn't the case anymore.
So just to be clear you want the GM and HC to have an emergency meeting one game into the season as though a players entire future is in danger because he said on social media that people will regret doubting him?
