If anything, I think it's way easier to spot a guy who will be successful early than a bust. The transition from college to the NFL is hard for QBs. I can't think of many players who started hot like Stroud as rookies ended up with poor careers. Conversely, I can think of a bunch of guys who started slow and ended up doing fine.
As some lady once said, "Where's the beef?" The downside of the west coast defense is smaller, but faster players. But it leads to less beef on the goal line where speed matters less. Perhaps we expand special teams to include players specifically for that purpose. Get the sled masters for the goal lime.
finally we have a OC that can scheme guys open. for years we were jealous of the KC Chiefs or the LA Rams cause players were wide open down the field while BoB's offense relied solely on Hopkins winning 50:50 balls.
