Those things stick out more to fans than anyone The sample size of those is so tiny. His OPS vs RHP during the regular season was mid 700's, not terrible, but not anything special. There were plenty of those type of at bats during the season. It just sticks out to fans because every at bat is magnified. There is zero doubt he should be in the lineup tonight, and i'd be shocked if he wasn't
You mis-understood. The run itself is not depressing at all... its the fact that there will never be ANOTHER run like this in my lifetime, because of how ****ing historic this one is. Absolutely, I do soak it all in. I go to the games. I go to the watch parties. I'm all over all the content after every win. I buy all the merchandise, DVD's, jerseys, hats, etc. after every year.
not really. Even chas admitted post game he's been sucking at the plate swinging at trash and having bad ab's that's postseason baseball. if you're not playing well and nobody behind you is either, you're going home. thankfully right now chas has someone behind him stepping up in Dubon. and the stros need every bit of it. if chas comes along even better.
I'm pumped. Go 'Stros. During this excellent Astros stretch (2017 - ___ ) the Astros have never been a "hot" team entering the post-season IIRC. The Astros have been a great team since 2017 but there's a lot to be said for being a hot team entering/in the post-season. When we've won its been a hell of a grind. It's never been a tear through the playoffs because we were hot at the right time. It would be nice if we could enter the post-season being the "hot" team every so often.
Last year's Phillies were good and red-hot and probably the most rabid road environment this era's Astros have had to face... and they're backing it up this year as its basically the same lineup with Turner in place of Hoskins, and similar rotation.
.437 xwOBA for that game compared to .508 xwOBA last night. The team as a whole hit like Bonds last night.
Rangers were so incredibly lucky winning both games at MMP, but they already have 2 of 4 needed victories. Hopefully their luck runs out before the 4th happens.
Oh, I think they're much better than that Braves' team - this offense is legit. And their SP isn't bad. Bullpen is really the only glaring weakness: and it's been pretty good this October.
These dumb Oklahoman Fans are very sure of themselves that they are going to win the next two games. Would love the opportunity to spike the football on these clowns.
Dubon is going well now, but both have had good and bad moments. That's baseball. Dubon is also clearly getting better in CF with more playing time. I would still play both of them vs LHSP and mix and match based on matchup on which pairs w/ Brantley vs RHSP. For example a flyball pitcher who gives up a lot of HR would favor Chas while a great control pitcher would favor Dubon since he takes fewer pitches and less likely to walk anyway)
As long as we win 1 more before going back to Houston. Interesting stat is we never won a series starting 0-2, but we also never lost an ALCS game #6
It already did... They have once chance to make it to The World Series and its tonight, if they lose tonight its over....
The 17 Dodgers had 6 of 9 starters w/ OPS+ off 100 or better The 18 Red Sox had 5 of 9 starters w/ OPS+ of 100 or better They sure felt much better than that at the time This Rangers offense is simply a different animal. Taveras is the only starter under 100, and finished at 97 but is playing like Willie Mays
Texas has done everything right in order to win this series, even then they barely got by an underperforming Astros team... Even yesterday they had big moments that good teams will usually feed off of... Like I said, momentum is for winners... Not saying The Astros can't lose the series, just saying I doubt they do.... Astros winning big tonight...
