No more cheap money..... profitability is back! I think rotating through services is the way to go. I don't really use Amazon Prime nearly as much and they only have a few original shows that I like..... feeling I'm going to cancel Bezos in December when it's due to renew. I cancelled HBO or whatever it is called after Succession and Barry ended. I'll renew it sooner than later (probably after House of Dragons concludes) I added/started Crunchyroll. I've watched quite a bit, so it might be on chopping block soon. I still feel Netflix and Hulu are worth it (I'll pay for ad-free).
I'm definitely not getting $14/mo value from D+. Does anyone here have the version with ads? How has that been? Commercials in the middle of the movies would bother me a bit, but if it saves me $6/month, and considering I watch a movie on D+ maybe 4 times a year, it would be worth it.
do a search about Spoiler Real Debridand Stremio app (available google play store). Game changer for me, as I plan on moving away from our paid services. (we still have services like Netflix, Disney+, Max, AppleTv (free with tmobile), primevideo)
I don't have Netflix, but I'm pissed I sold the stock. And they just reported "good" earnings and decided to also jack up their prices... ENJOY!!! Netflix is increasing prices. Here's how much the price hike is going to cost you.
It's not that it is incredibly expensive, it's more like we're stacking more services. Used to be people would cut the cord and just get netflix. Now we're getting netflix, HBO max, D+, on and on. If you just do internet and netflix, it's fairly cheap. But everyone wants to watch what everyone else is watching so they can talk about it, I guess.
Yeah, subscriptions are dangerous when stacked. I really don't care about movies since the majority of them suck anyway. I only have Netflix and get Paramount+ once or twice a year when it's "free for a month" just to binge-watch Star Trek shows. Then when I try canceling it, they extend it a month or so. I only get Paramount+ for Star Trek, so it's not like I want to be paying for the other months I don't watch it. I have Amazon for the shipping and sometimes Prime deals, but I would never get it just for the shows/movies. I would like to get Disney+ for the MCU stuff, but again, it seems like most of their movies are bad, so I don't feel like paying them while they try to get it right. YouTube TV is the only one I really "need". The toughest one I have in terms of getting rid of is probably my SiriusXM subscription, but they keep jacking up the prices, and I think they may offer a discount if I call them up and threaten to cancel or something.
i've read before that you can use vpn to subscribe to certain streaming services to get cheaper rates from other countries. like i read if you subscribe to neftlix india via a vpn, you'd only have to pay like $1. truth to this? i need to know this.
my new habit is to wait until a season/series is done before i streamer hop. so i'm not paying for more than two subs per month. easy to do one for people who don't watch sports.
Only Amazon doesn't have plans to crack down on sharing pw. They even have Amazon Household to share with one other adult and teens...
Sirius will for sure drop the price, I used to call annually. I finally cancelled though, because we just use spotify or amazon prime music (already paying for it). Just seems like there's too many ways to get the music we want to listen to, to justify sirius. I do netflix, amazon, and disney +. I'll add on some sling tv during baseball playoffs. They had a half off first month, so should be able to get through the world series before having to cancel. If I wanted to watch the Texans, I'd use just an HDTV antenna. Cheap and gets football on the regular channels. Can watch on Thursdays with Amazon prime.
At some point people are going to join together - and simply live stream shows through screen sharing. DD
I don’t want to have to think this much about TV. I want to come home and turn it on and not have to constantly juggle content and subscriptions from a ton of different sources. I have a job.
I didn’t even realize I am paying for so many… Hulu Netflix Prime Apple League Pass Knew I was paying for those 5 but apparently also MGM+ AMC+ Starz Paramount+ Yikes
