According to Bleacher Report. Searched but didn't find anything, so i figured i should go ahead and share. Opinions? Feel free to lock the thread if this is being discussed somewhere else. Edit: posting from phone, link not working. Great.
“Houston has held trade discussions with Detroit regarding Alec Burks…” “The Rockets were also in touch with Utah on deal structures that would have sent Talen Horton-Tucker to Houston…” “Sources said Houston has also eyed veteran guard Malcom Brodgon…”
From hoopsyhpe it said: talen Horton Tucker, Alec burks and Malcom Brogdon https://hoopshype.com/rumors/
I think Burks makes the most sense. Good trade chip down the line too. But I believe the Pistons is eyeing for a first.
Seemingly the goal would be to flip Oladipo immediately for a player they feel can contribute, and who also can potentially buy into the team better. Oladipo will probably be in rehab for a while, he also might not be the greatest lockeroom presence given his potential mindset towards the club, having already asked out of Houston and declining an extension here a few years ago amidst an awful time in the organization. I think it makes sense, but at the same time ffs were absolutely burning through 2nds for very mediocre improvements.
I asked in the KPJ trade thread, how many freaking vets do Ime need? He really don’t **** with rookies like that. I guess he wants to wait til year 2 to really give them burn. That’s why I said I’m not assuming nothing until the season plays outs. I don’t think it’s I the cards for Amen and Cam to be heavy contributors this year.
Out of the three, Brogdan is the best but he makes 22.5m for two years. Also Brogdan might complain about playing time; so Ime have to have room for him. Alex Burks, do we really need another 6'6" guard wing? He's also 32 yrs. If HOU is talking to DET and want a big man, Stone could ask for Wiseman 12.1m instead of Burks. Money also matches to Dipo's 9.4m . Wiseman has his warts. Might be too 'young' to be considered a vet. Depends how bad they want a 7 footer. HOU gave 2nd rounders to OKC to offload KPJ, if they're flipping Dipo, they might have to give more picks.
