I've only been posting here for a year and a half, but in that time it seems like this past week has been the most blah - where news just aint happening. How many Hakeem threads have there been? We've rehashed whether he should stay or go one million times. We've thought of every possible trade scenario...we've exhausted that subject and everything else. Can anyone site another time in which we were more in the doldrums than we are right now?

I remember when we were waiting for Shandon to sign a couple of years ago - will he or won't he, the same thing about a million times. Kind of like now.

I agree Valio, this has been a very long offseason.

The debate for or against Mo Taylor last summer seemed like it dragged on.

I'm just so happy there are all these new threads for me to get freebies off of. It just gives you that extra satisfaction deep down inside when you can still buck the system, even during a lull.

You know, some of us have been loyal Rocket fans since before there was an internet. Talk about dead periods between news items!

Of course, Houston had two newspapers back then.

We should actually consider ourselves very lucky... I mean, it's only because of CD genius that we've had a possible miracle free agenty signing to even TALK about for the past few years...

I mean... at least we're not JAZZ fans or something....

Im getting so frustrated with all of this Hakeem bs...... I really dont care where he signs. He is 38 years old and wont play a full season..... I think Rudy, CD, and Les are getting sucker punched by Fegan....

    whatever

You were a San Diego Rockets fan? [IMG]

Geek sidenote : the Internet (or ARPAnet, its forerunner) and the San Diego Rockets came into being at roughly the same time. I believe the San Diego Rockets were founded in 1967(?) and ARPAnet's first proposal was presented that year as well. ARPANet was officially functional in 1969. This was obviously done for the Rockets' impending move to Houston.

The Rockets and the Internet : meant to be together; Clutchcity.net the glue that binds them together.

... now this is one jacked up post.

You are all right!! This lull has been terrible. I remember 2 weeks ago that the biggest news was that Kenny Thomas' face had been bitten of by Boylen's dog!! THAT is a slow news day.

In my opinion, this is the calm before the storm. I DON'T think Hakeem is going to re-sign and I think sign-and-trade is going to be the solution. If CD plays his cards right we could end up with a good, young center (Mihm, Keon Clark, or *praying* Marcus Camby) or he'll totally blunder and we'll end up with an overpaid player we don't have room for (Rice, Lamond Murray).

Either way, in the coming weeks I think we will have ALOT to talk about. I just hope it's the good news that gets us talking.

    Have a good week everyone...

I'm so bored I watched a tape replay of the RMR game last nite. For anyone interested, I payed close attention to Eddie's intensity and concentration on D....they were totally fine, nothing to be concerned about. Also, I'm not sure if anyone caught it, but Nate "Tiny" Archibald referred to Steve Francis as Steve Harris....what a fool.
