I liked Kai Jones. A little disappointed in his approach. Would like to understand more on his issue with the organization before understanding if he’s a fit on this young team. I think coach and clubhouse chemistry are major factors. If KPJ is out, I would prefer it be a message we won’t be tolerating player before team.
I'm sure someone has mentioned this, but KPJ + Tate for Brogdon is perfect from a money standpoint. The Trail Blazers can immediately waive KPJ and save some cap space next season, while Tate provides some needed, inexpensive wing depth for them. For us, Brogdon rounds out our lineup well and adds much needed shooting to the second unit. This, of course, assumes Brogdon is healthy. FVV / Amen Green / Brogdon Brooks / Whitmore Smith / Eason Sengun / Landale
Brogdon would be a perfect culture setter as well and I think he would be a great mentor for our young core. We'd probably need to throw in a pick or two.
I do not think that KPJ’s deal is soo good that we can get a good player for him . The best we could do is get a bad contract that we might be able to use in the future as an expiring . now if we bundle players / picks with him … maybe we can get a guy who will improve our team , But I’m not sure we want to cash in on any picks right now . I think stone is hoping the leagues investigation takes time and he can trade Him as part of a package in December to upgrade the team..once our needs and realistic ceiling for the year is clearer. it may not be time to make a move , but if we are on 25-30 win pace stone will probably need to make a move to keep his job I’d hate to trade Tate and picks . But he’s probably the most likely in a package . What does Tate picks and porter (expiring ) even get us . Are there good 20 million players out there that would be traded for that ? maybe a rebuilding team would take whitmore and kpj and picks for their 20 million guy I just don’t see a very favorable trade materializing . Stone is high with how much better he thinks the team will get . We are not breaking .500 this year . Are we really going to trade kpj for a bad contract (and us throwing in picks ) just so we can trade that contract when it’s expiring (with picks / assets ) for a good player ? we don’t have OKC level of picks . OKC could do this . I don’t think we can
Well today is our last day to get the highest value for Jalen Green Portland Sharpe, Kris Murray & 2026 FRP For Jalen They get to pay their new “Super Star” => Green, Scoot & Ayton We pay Sengun, get bigger, and outside shooting + FRP
With the twins, Cade (1st), Green (2nd) & Silas, there are some connections. Jalen For Ausar Pistons get the better today player and reunite Silas and his protégé. The backcourt of the future and all is well for them. We gamble on nepotism and the future. We max out (not super max) Sengun, then Smith (super if needed) the following year. We also get the other half of Thompson twins giving us leverage to keeping both in the future. (Near max times 2 for the twins) Maybe they take a little less of a salary to stay together. Cam / Amen / Ausar fill the void left by Jalen. Brooks comes off the books when the twins are ready to get paid. We hurt today a little, but are so much better in the long run with contracts lining up is seasons to come. The culture is completely different. The players (I think) would be a lot happier today and later.
Bring back DJ Wilson.... small ball 5 and can hit the 3. A poorer man's CWood, but with a team attitude. I said what I said
What do we think of the Hawks long term future? Especially when compared to Brooklyn? I ask because i saw a trade on Fanspo that i think i like the more i think about it. But it involves a pick swap using the 27' Brooklyn unprotected FRP. Ive adjusted it a little but its: KPJ, Tate, 27' FRP swap via Brooklyn (greater value) For Clint Capella, 27' FRP swap (lesser value) If Capella buys into, 20-22 minutes off the bench, could be a really good get for Houston. May be over paying him a bit, but $20m for a really good bench player isnt that crazy. Spacing with Amen could be a bit of an issue?
Any thoughts on Dayron Sharpe? Could be a good young backup center with potential. Think we could get him from Brooklyn on the cheap?
Probably should have cashed in on Jalen Green. What is his value now? Any other team giving multi-picks or serviceable players. Do we want to pay him? Jalen Green For Anthony Black (possible starter role player with size, defense, pass first and not starting for current team - controlled by rookie contract) maybe Orlando bites… they get a 6th man scorer as they move towards win now. Hopefully we are shopping Smith for a healthy return before his star shine is complete gone, too.
Would Portland bite on an offer of Jabari Smith plus about 2M in other contracts (Bullock, Boban or Holiday) plus a pick for Time Lord? I don’t think they’d accept that today but if they’re out of the playoff hunt by mid season, they might be more amenable. Of course, if Jabari doesn’t improve any between now and then, it’s probably even less likely.
That would be a steal for them in their current rebuilding situation. And the Rockets shouldn't offer it.

Or trade Rafael Stone for Tyrese Maxey, Kelly Oubre, Kenyon Martin Jr. They would need a contract attorney and evaluator over there. You could also buy out Fred Van Vleet and give the keys to Tyrese.
Jackson, they need a big man who can score and defend off the bench. Period. No more guards. Have you seen the rebounding numbers, not to mention the blocks. Rockets are dead last in blocks so far this season. Someone tell this guy.
