MAGA is just so ****ing stupid, a slogan taken from the KKK in the 20s and full of ignorant people that can't critically think or know how to discern right from wrong......the sooner Trump keels over dead the better off this country will be.

So what happens when he violates it in the next 24 hours? Will the judge hold him in contempt of his release terms? I doubt it...

gag orders are a blatant first amendment violation that should offend every American

a healthy society is one in which citizens can trash people in authority without reprisal

Gag orders are meant to not taint due process which is also a constitutional right.

If you or I were making claims against court staff, prosecutors, etc in front of the jury pool, we'd face a very minium of a gag order. Preventing a defendant from threats against the court, tainting the jury pool, enticing others to endanger the court members or the trial is perfectly constitutional.

    Trump is receiving preferential treatment

We'd be in federal custody until trial after the first attempt.

you dont have a first amendment right to incite violence against others.

january 6th has already proven that trumps cult is more than willing to engage in violence on his behalf.

trump has been given way too much leeway and its about time he got a gag order.

Trump is out on bond awaiting trial. It is well established that courts can set conditions for being on bond. Oftentimes, the accused are not allowed to leave a state, or are ordered to not drink any alcohol, or not to handle a firearm, and are prohibited from other things that are ordinarily protected by the Bill of Rights. But these are people who are getting their due process, which has rules around it to make sure things remain orderly. This isn't new ground; we've been doing it for 200+ years. So, sure, ordinarily he should be able to trash people in authority. Ordinarily he can. And we can. But, right now he's been indicted and he is in the process, so his rights are abridged for now. The judge has taken reasonable steps to minimize the impact the trial will have on his ability to campaign. But the integrity of the process has to come first. And Trump, of course, is following his usual MO -- push the limits are dare others to call him out.

The gag order limits attacks on witnesses, prosecutors and court staff in the Jan. 6 insurrection case so that a fair trial can take place. Trump can still attack the judge, Biden, the DOJ (except those working on this case), and anyone else not involved in the case. This is completely reasonable. Trump supporters aren't reasonable and want special treatment for him, the same "law and order folks" that wanted the full extent of justice placed on others. This again illustrates the "rules for thee but not for me" mentality that is extremely common among Trump's supporters and today's Republican party.

You are mistaken. Criminal defendants do not have the same first amendments rights as they did before they were charged with crimes.
