Something I have always wondered about. Why does Allen Iverson wear the full sleeve on his left arm? Originally I thought it was for an injury, but he started wearing it like 3 seasons ago so it for something else? Perhaps offensive tattoos?
I think it is for an injury, even though he's been wearing for years. As often as he shoots his elbow is probably pretty worn out.
My dad told me the other day that the league makes him wear it to cover some obscene tattoos. Don't know what they are though.
u can get ur very onw shooting sleve from here: http://www.underarmour.com/ua2/ua/detail.asp?dept_id=3&pf_id=0030&mscssid= but yea i think the thing about his tatoos is a myth, because he started wearing it for injuries. he probably wears it still because he got used to it & likes how it looks on him. its like how people wear sweat bands & stuff, his just covers his whole arm. haha.
He does wear it for an injury I believe. Much like Francis wore one on his leg. Something to do with blood flow...
what's ridiculous is that one time i was playing bball at the park, and there was this one teenager that made his own out of a sock or something. sad.
Didn't he have a hyperextended elbow a few years ago? This could be for protection and/or prevention.
That elbow injury happened a long time ago and healed a long time ago. I think it's more of just a fashion statement at this point.
Exactly. Or a superstitious thing on Ive's part. He had bursitis (sp?) on his elbow, nothing to do with his tats.
You can see Iverson's tattoos here: http://www.internationalbasketball.com/tattoos-alleniverson.html. There's nothing obscene that I can see. I agree with F2001 in his agreement with me. His injury may have healed, but Iverson's making sure it doesn't happen again by giving that elbow some additional support. Either that or he's trying to keep vericose veins at bay.
