Agree with everything here, except the screen game. The Falcons have a fast defense and screens usually dont work against fast defenses.

Really agree about WR1 or a stud TE helping Stroud out a lot.

    This post is comforting.

Hopefully you're right. Time will tell.

Yep, a guy like MHJ or Nabers would really help open things up for the offense.

I think there is reason to have doubt after we have been burned before.

Deshaun was always on IG, posting about himself, very materialistic etc.

CJ isn't a big social media guy.

The signs are there to suggest he isn't a knucklehead.

And by all means social media isn't an indicator whether you are a bad person or not, but CJ clearly shows he doesn't need others approval to make him feel a certain way. That in its own, shows a level of confidence that Deshaun never had.

CJ Stroud 11 sacks on the year through 5 games.

16 game season that comes out to around 35 a pop.

That puts him in the Aaron Rodgers territory.

The trend though is fantastic. 0 in his last 3.

If he can be a 15-25 sacks a game guy then the Texans offense with a fixed running game has a chance to be really good.

He learned quickly to get rid of that ball after all those initial sacks. That's a huge plus. Even after all his years of experience Watson still hasn't learned to get rid of that ball to avoid sacks. He has 12 sacks in his 3 games, yet has one of the top 5 offensive lines in the league. CJ has avoided that many sacks in 5 games, and our offensive line strength is mediocre compared to the Browns.

Oh, there is a reason why high sack guys won't win rings.

    Negative plays kill drives.

Thats why its so key to not take them.

Texans negative run plays last week killed their offense.

They are going to be so good if they get that run game fixed. So good.

Let's hope they find ways to get more production out of the players we have. I hate seeing us run as much as we do until they find a way to get more productivity out of all those rushing attempts. Pierce is 6th in the league for rush attempts, yet down near the bottom for yards per carry.

It's a catch 22 because the running game has to work for this offense to work. Maybe they can compromise by running from shotgun or single back formations? It's the only quick solution.
it was the perfect plan to try and gash them for 5 yards each time. Can't blame Slow for wanting that. But that didn't pan out, my issue was Slow sticking with it when it was clear that it wasn't working.

But getting back on topic with Stroud's talent,

Aaron Rodgers says he would be ok if Stroud was banging Olivia Munn.
You just got bamboozled. Hood winked. Led Astray.

He's really putting up great stats in his 2nd year.
I would definitely put him at the top of the QB list.
This is my dream for Stroud's NFL progression with more experience.
