I've always said that MLB actually looked the other way on our scandal by giving the players immunity, soft-balling the report, and the Astros basically walked clean. That's the angle. Why didn't baseball do more. I can see no other angle after 5 years. The real focus here is likely to put a spotlight on MLB during the postseason, not the Astros, but that doesn't mean we aren't going to suffer from it. All Baseball will do is brush it aside saying they dealt with it already and talk about how they cleaned up the pitchers.
So when is the Frontline on the following: Coverup of video usage by the Red Sox. The corporate espionage committed by the Cardinals. Fentanyl and sticky tack from the Anaheim clubhouse. Illegal signing of international players by the Braves. Sexual abuse of minor leaguers in the Rangers system. Sexual harassment and drug use by the Mets. Goldilocks balls given to the Yankees?
That's all I care about. I don't care if they continue talking about the Astros. All I care about is that cover other teams too. Yankees started it and red Sox won bc of it but the Astros took the punishment and the hate. They lost their gm and manager as well as picks that they would have turned into atleast 1 starter. Needed much more Verducci giving context, waaaaay much less Ben Reiter (waaaaaaay much less). Luhnow was great, shame but understandable that Hinch wouldn't talk to anybody. It was solid, nothing really new. Not a hit piece like so many of you expected, and not as in-depth as I had hoped. They did pretty much throw Beltran and Cora under the bus, though, deservedly.
