Global terrorism was a problem long before 9/11. I didn't see many people in the US b****ing about it until it hit home. So don't act as if terrorism around the world started only after we invaded Iraq.
I'm not saying it started then. But it has increased. Remember the report that came out that said it decreased, but then it was found out to be a mistake? The truth was terrorism INCREASED. Like I stated in my original post on the topic, it is certainly arguable that the world is not safer with Saddam gone. That doesn't mean that Saddam isn't horrible. It doesn't mean that things won't improve, and in the long run things will be better. But it does mean that in the present one can argue that the world is not safer since Saddam was removed.
Forgot to mention another impression of GWB that I had while watching him and Laura on Larry King. GWB is trying to reposition himself as a moderate for the November election. Does he really belief in supporting the K-12 education? He says No-Child-Left-Behind has made education better. What he did not say is that he fought to pass the bill and fought to not actually fund the bill. States have to fund it and that forces states into budget cuts or raises their taxes. The bottom line is that without funding No-Child-Left-Behind is more of a hradship than a blessing. It appears that GWB only core belief is that he has to stay in power.
