It’s nice that Texans may actually be in a position to pay some of their own guys this offseason. Hopefully Greenard and Nelson are re-signed and Collins should get extended.
Thank God, I think whoever has been punting for us this first month might be the worst I’ve ever seen.
It waaaaaaaaaaay too early - but this draft class is shaping up to be a monster, and easily the best since 2006 - which is the best draft class in team history. What's interesting about those two classes: they were both done after not just new head coaching hires (that were obviously augmented by higher draft picks) but head coaches from the Shanahan tree. I think it speaks VOLUMES to how well the coaches understand the system and what's needed to make it go. Meanwhile, one of their worst classes (2014) was post the Bill O'Brien hire, who was trying to implement not a system but an idea: Belichick + Brady = rings. (And Ryans is saddled with one of those same disciples whose draft classes, pre-DeMeco, were bad - probably not a coincidence).
It's amazing what Stroud has done with Nico Collins so far, I think it shows that Stroud can be the kind of player to elevate the guys around him, and also shows that Mills was unable to do anything to elevate anybody. It also shows just how special guys like Andre and DeAndre were, who had a lot of junk quarterbacks throwing to them but still performed at a Hall of Fame level.
Its cool to see this board active again! Shout out to all the guys and gals here who were gluttons for punishment over the last few years - feels good to see it through.
