    I find it ironic how quick you always are to lable Van Gundy grumpy.

    Prediction for next game:

    Chinese team takes 99 shots.
    Yao 41 for 82 shooting.
    Rest of the team 2 for 17.

    Quote after the game, "Team? What team? I AM the Chinese National Team!"

    lol, totally agree.

    There is little doubt that yao will explode in the next game....hell, he would drop 30p regardlessly even if the opponent was USA.

    It’s just funny to me that YOU, of all people, are going to call someone ELSE grumpy. No offense, but you’re the biggest sourpuss on the board.

    Whatever. Here is a balanced look at "what I believe."

    +
    (1) Yao Ming has potential. He is probably the best center in the West right now.

    (2) Tracy McGrady is a young superstar, and possibly the best scorer in the league.

    (3) This team could win 50+ games and going deep into the second round of the playoffs.

    ==

    -
    (1) Yao Ming has yet to live up to his potential. He has improved tremendously in two years, but he lacks consistency, and is nowhere near the superstar we believe he could be.

    (2) T-Mac has a tendency toward immaturity, and there are definite concerns about the system, and a head coach who ignores the talent of his new superstar in favor of talking about the somewhat unproven commodity of his defense.

    (3) If the Rockets don't accomplish those goals, it is time for a change, specifically at the head coach's position.

    ==

    To bring this back around to the topic: Yao Ming will not quit the CNT. He will stick it out until the Olympics in China in four years. Therefore, this little outburst has to be considered a negative. It is the job of the star(s) to make the lesser talents around them better.

    Obviously he's never met Eddy Curry or the Kandiman.

    Yao is the leader of that team without any question, and it is amazing how good of a motivational tool a verbal beating can be. That kind of motivation can come from anyone, but it is 10 times more effective when it comes from someone who is undeniably their best player. People pay more attention when they are called out and made responsible.

    unfortunately not everyone answers the call well.

    some response with more hard working

    but others might take it as a personal jab and having issue with the caller.

    Yeah, but I bet Yao would rather be playing with the people who respond by working hard. It is the other guys that Yao wants to call out, I'm sure.

    yes, he did break out.

    Yao played 34 minutes, scoring 39 out of China's 69 points and grabbing 13 of China's 35 rebounds. Yao shot 15/20, the rest of the Chinese team was 10/40 and 1/9 from 3 point range.

    The vitriol continues.

    I am curious to know if you are Ruddy T's relative? Were you on his payrol? Are you dating his daughter or son?

    Why cant you let go? Seriously, edc, why?

    :(
