. Most of the negative reports came from University of Kentucky in their recruiting process, some on here believe UK made those things up because they felt bitter about him and Jalen not going there. I believe once he knew Jalen was not going, he didn't want to go to UK either. The reports were about character issues from how he was treating his own family in front of coaches and recruiters. Their concern was if he was treating them this way in front of them, then he could be a lot worse of a person. Apparently whatever did transpire was pretty awful and the recruiters were fairly shocked by it. Starting to think there are known character issues, usually if you are a first round pick you get a bit more of an opportunity to prove your worth. If you have other issues, you will likely not get many opportunities unless you show you have some out of this world talent. If true, I think it fits the general theme of the Rockets the past few years where they are looking for the best talent available, regardless of character.
I wish Christopher well. He may end up a journeyman in the league. Who knows? But he's gone farther that a sea of players who dream of playing in the NBA. I don't know if he was a problem in the locker room or not. I missed hearing about it if he was, but he had some good moments with the Rockets. Maybe he'll catch on somewhere, or overseas. Time will tell.
unfortunately for him, players like him are a dime a dozen. he's probably in line for a 2 way. contending teams don't need him and lottery teams already have guards they're prioritizing. I don't think this is the end for him but once the team drafts you gives up on you then you're pretty much one foot out the league. It doesn't help that he's someone who prioritizes fashion and his brand.
I'm glad OKC dropped him. Didn't want him to succeed there and punish us. Hope he gets picked up somewhere else and does great just not in our conference.
we need to get rid of Jalen Green until he still has some value… All his buds and former teammates are bombing out. Christopher… Nix and Todd from Ignite…
He's a high usage player but he doesn't have the bona fides to be fed a high usage rate in the NBA. I bet he'd totally kill it in a Euro league.
Meh, it was a consequence of all those trades where guys would get traded as filler, get bought out and sign right back with the team that traded them. That was a bit more bullshit than this.
it all went down hill when Gup tried to be prime Lebron in summer league but everyone wanted to see if he could pass the ball. The NBA is not a guarantee.
This seems like a henny laced mic drop moment you had there typing this Pretty sure his bball buddy list consist of more than 3 players, especially if you are going to count two of those from a team he played only 15 games for But after his rookie deal is up they may get rid of him or extend him for 4/5 more seasons, if I were a betting man I would choose the latter option
Are you really "pretty sure"? Who else is on his pre-NBA list that looks to be on a path of "making it"? I honestly don’t know, except for Kuminga, who is also just about to bomb out… Bottomline is there is always a risk when you draft a weird kid with no pedigree. Compare to another Jalen, Jalen Brunson, who doesn’t have even 25% of Green’s talent but came from rock-solid pedigree and is now a star…
In his 5th year at age 27...which I think is awesome. Let's see what year three with some vets and a promising coach does for our Jalen before we give up on him for being a "weird kid".
I mean he is fairly athletic, is undersized, nothing really special. He is decent at scoring......not that good of a shooter. People are just not patient with developing him because basically there are way better prospects out there. But for Mychal Mulder though, I think that was harsh, I think Mychal Mulder is a scrub too. But I guess Mychal played for the Worriers and must be a winning scrub.....lol.
Jalen Brunson is an Anti Jalen Green.....like Van Vleet he had to scrape by with less athleticism and being short and later in his career. He is 26-27 and still not an All Star, he will make it but it is not like he is showered with success until very late. Also All Star appearances will not tell you how valuable he is ...he is that kind of player.
