Yao - Please, just look at me!
Pau - I don't even know who you are!

    Pau...anymore questions!

I think they are a dead heat . I just like razzing you guys. However, if I was a GM and had to pick...I would take Pau...in the long run I think he will win more.

We didn't expect you to say otherwise. If you ask this question on a Grizzlies forum, I think a lot of your fellow homers would agree with you too. :)

    Pau.
I don't think he is significant better than Yao,they are about the same right now,so I pick the player I personally like more.
I think anyone who thinks any of them is vastly superior than the other one is a big homer.

    Memphisx,

First of all, did you really watch the game? Talking about your famous "owned" picture, the situation is like stupid CNT pg lost the ball and Gasol and another spanish guy are in a fast break 2-1 against yao, there is nothing to brag about or highlights here. Yao can just walk away and let Gasol to dunk. He chose not to do it and fouled out, maybe not a smart choice.

In this game, it is fair to say Gasol outplayed Yao, he is pretty good on the defense end to contain yao. But talking about offense, you know what? He is facing the worst zone defense I ever saw in the world, and Chinese PF to defend him just sucks.
    Don't need to say more.

Finally, potential is a tricky topic to debate. We can just wait to see who turns out to be better.

God, players make such a big deal out of dunking on Yao, who has the mobility of a phone booth.

It galls me that Pau did this. The guy's so smug, smirks more than GWB before the Iraq invasion, and whines to the refs more than Kelvin Cato ever could.

Can't wait for Yao to get back to his real team and repay the favor on whiny-beeyotch Pau.

Yao is better than Gasol. I guarantee you that Yao will be at least be a 20/10 player this upcoming season.

can i say the same for Gazzhole? :D
does Gazzhole command double and triple teams? can he play against shaq? does he make his team better? :D

teams double and triple team yao on a frequent basis. do teams double team pau? if he was that good, they would try double teams on him on a daily basis just like they do to tim duncan. also i don't see any improvement from gazzhole really, his scoring and rebounding seem to stagnant.

gazzhole won't bring you a championship. sorry but MEMPHIS WILL NEVER WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP with gazzhole as your franchise player! AHHHH THAT FELT GOOD!!! HHAHAHAHAHA :D
what a loser franchise team, never really had a winning season until last year, then can't even win a playoff game.....LOSERS FOR REAL :D

i remember memphisX saying that he would trade gasol for yao in exchange for the memphis 55 win season....umm.....um........

Ask all 30 GM's in the league who they would take, Gasol or Yao and every single one of them will take the 7'6 guy. To even compare the two is ridiculous.

What's your point here? So if every GM takes Yao over Shaq, then Yao must be a better player than Shaq now?

People pick Yao over Shaq, or Gasol, purely based on Yao's potential, and the position he plays, not because he is better now. Gasol just out played Yao in that game, plain and simple.

As someone said early in his post, neither of those two has done anything in this league yet, so let's just wait for a couple more years before making any judgment.

    Hahahahahahahahahahaha

Memphis is sure glad that you aren't Jerry West. And I wished so badly that you were.

While it's true that MemphisX is rubbing Gasol's dunk in our faces. It's also true that Gasol makes it his personal mission to embarrass Yao (whether it's dunking on Yao or blocking one of his shots; or whatever).

But as we all know, Yao will block many of his shots for the years to come. So, Gasol will give no mercy. Yao has to suck it up and learn to compete; maybe make it a little personal when Gasol is on the court. I've noticed that Gasol loves to play the "rope-a-dope" while the play is developing. He'll hide in the "weeds" and pretend that he's not part of the offense and then quickly slash in for a rebound or dunk. He never gives up and is constantly scheming.

"The Essence of the game is deception." And Gasol is really good at that. Yao needs to learn this. Yao will ALWAYS be a target.
