Seeing this stuff makes me really excited for his future. In downs where the expectation is that he will pass, with what was considered the worst WR corps in the league paired with a decimated OL.... He is first in almost every statistical category. Stroud and Slowik deserve HUGE props.
Listen Dolt, if you and the other curmudgeon Buck don’t understand where the game is going, you need to hop out the 4:30 Luby’s line and open your eyes. Don’t forget your readers.
Slowik has been catching some s**t, not totally undeserved, but I'm reserving judgement until he has a couple of games with an even moderately healthy OL.
That's amazing for a rookie with a top tier veteran OL and OC, it's almost unbelievable given the true circumstances.
It is being talked about.. But not in that way. Nico only need health to be better, and Brevin only needed to actually hold on to the balls. Nothing CJ is doing helps.
I have watched so many go through our program, thinking "this is the one, this one will not bust in the NFL, they are too good" only to be disappointed. Then when one joins my NFL team I got scared, but tentatively, it looks like 2 worlds of mine just came together in perfect harmony! I hope. haha.
Oddly enough my favorite CJ play yesterday was the first completion to Metchie. Not because Metchie finally got an NFL reception (though that is a nice story) but because Stroud had to go through pretty much all of his progressions. He was scanning quickly and waited until the last moment (but not too long) to take that safety valve, and still got like 10 yards out of it. It's the kind of calm, collected approach I wouldn't have expected from any QB that had seen as much pressure as he had to start the season, let alone a rookie. So excited for this kid.
One thing I can say for certain. Your insatiable Will Levis love will never be forgotten on this board. Congratulations, you are legendary!
CJ went 20/30 and I can think of 2 passes dropped that hit the receivers hands. One to Schultz and one to Nico. CJ was damn near 75% with those 2 catches and more than 300 yards.
About 365 days ago.... https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/qb-or-not-qb.316832/page-12 Was more clear in later post... Obviously, I didn't pay attention to LEVIS at the time, turns out, for good reason. Warmed up to Bryce later in the year, but CJ was always the choice for me. You should see some of the takes from a year ago.
Stroud kills defenses with those quick slants. I remember in the days of Brady in NE, those quick slants were unstoppable and he feasted on them on 3rd downs. Not comparing Stroud to Brady yet but the accuracy/anticipation is there.
Stroud sees windows before they open. Amazing for a 21 year old rookie to be able to do that consistently.
