LOL at the poor fans cheering before sorry ass Abreu goes down swinging at ball 4 2 ft outside the zone... then that collective "awww" afterwards sorry ya'll gotta witness this flaming **** in person
Astros fans are soft for the most part. A lot of them have no passion and see watching baseball as a hobby.
Do we have no one who has the inside track on the locker room? Have they quit, are they ensuring Dusty doesn’t return? Something specific is going on one hundred percent. It’s not just that they’re playing bad or whatever - looks like quit to me but I’d like to know why.
If it was reviewable, they'd see that the runner was completely inside the line and confirm the call. The issue wasn't that the call was made incorrectly based on the rules and how they interpret the rules, the issue is that the rule and how it is interpreted causes some weird situations. The runner is supposed to go for the outside of the bag, he simply chose not to and that led to him getting hit by the ball. Unless we create a space COMPLETELY outside the line for the runner to step on, there will always be situations like this where the runner can claim they were just going for the bag and the fielder can claim that the runner got in the way.
I mean. The manager is important, but for a squad who was just in back to back World Series, should it be more important than the players themselves? No doubt Dusty should no longer be manager, but "garbage tier" is too far. He has gotten way too many chances and gotten way too many teams to the playoffs for me to say that. Even if he made enough mistakes to continue losing in the playoffs and get that all those fanbases and many of those players to actively disliked him afterwards.
Playing 2 of the worst teams in the past 50 years in a September pennant race and going 2-6 is ****ing ridiculous.
You will hear louder cheers at Minute Maid for the wave and the t-shirt gun than for many of the actual baseball plays on the field.
Stros lose today or tomorrow and they'll finish below .500 at home for the first time since 2014. 3,000,000 home attendance for the first time since 2007
Defensive shifts? They’re all world hitters haven’t done diddly poo in any of these series and you’re talking about shifts?!?
If players could manage themselves, you wouldn't have a manager at all, you'd just have a GM who put the team together and you'd let them figure it out. Dusty has been fortunate enough to manage some very talented people over the years, but he's never been a competent manager. His lineups are always dumb, he always makes dumb decisions that hurt the team....and he's ruined the careers of many players in the past. Forcing him on the Astros was a punishment. No team had ever been good enough to overcome his sabotage...till last year. That's a miracle that was never going to be repeated.
Still at 2 paltry, weak, pathetic ass hits against the team that gives up the 2nd most runs in the league... I would pay money to smack the **** out these clowns
