Stone just tried to sign Brook Lopez for like 8 trillion dollars. Regardless of the KPJ situation Sengun is 100% on the block. Doesn’t mean he’ll for sure be traded but it wouldn’t surprise me one bit.
Question for whomever: What has more value? Sengun as a sweetener along with KPJ for X decent role player or the 24 Nets pick and KPJ for X decent role player?
Aren’t there already two dedicated threads for trade ideas surrounding KPJ? I guess when Cfnet gets bored with no news, everything turns into a trade idea thread.
AtM brought up Sengun trade so it got my mind boggling. So so sorry sir for the inconvenience. Please let me know how I can make it up to you.
No problem, right is right. You weren't the one that traded for KPJ, or paid his salary, or extended him. I feel like most of the vitriol is coming from Sengun only fans. But yes, either way, I think our team is in good shape. If we could only get a competent GM, front office..
Dude, come on now. You were told about the depth of his issues, and you just brushed it all aside, calling it "innuendo" and "rumors." If the evidence was presented and you chose to overlook it because it didn't fit your stubborn POV, whose fault is that?
I don't agree with DD's assessment of the situation remotely, but I will say that I didn't know that KPJ had a history of violent outbursts/abusing behavior. I knew about the long track record of clownish/immature behavior which led me to the assumption that he was a bad teammate, and likely locker room cancer. However, someone with the same knowledge I had could reasonably make the case that the Rockets should keep KPJ, and give him another chance to start the season with an important role. If this is about critiquing DD, I do think there's is a critique that maybe with his relationship to Roosh, and others that he could have trusted the folks here who are semi, or actual insiders. However the truth is, to the best of my knowledge, any dangerous or violent behavioral rumors were just innuendo, or 3rd or 4th hand accounts. To my credit, I don't have the relationships that DD has with those folks so I think it's reasonable for someone like me to be skeptical where maybe DD should have trusted others he knew a bit more. Either way though, this is all personal assumptions, and we just don't know what DD knew, and we don't know exactly which Rocketscasts he was on where insider info was or was not discussed. It would be one thing if Ronan Farrow did a piece that documented instances of violence against women, but the fact is all we had before the arrest was rumors so I don't think we should be labeling people with the "YOU SHOULD HAVE KNOWN!!" nonsense. Only thing it should be expected for Rockets fans to have known beforehand was that he had a locker situation fight in Cleveland that led to them parting ways, and the situation where he left the game at halftime. That was enough for me to waive or trade him beforehand, but reasonable minds could have argued otherwise beforehand.
yeah cause the morons in the front office have always engaged in magical thinking to the organization’s detriment. We badly need an overhaul. Put Chuck Hayes in charge. Oh wait….
There are none, just innuendo, nothing factual or concrete....let's review....we have just found out these things. 1. He pushed or charged Lucas at halftime 2. He broke a DJ's laptop in a disagreement 3. He tried to ram his gf with his car All of these things are more important than folks just saying he was missing practice and was a cancer, particularly when the one's saying it clearly didn't like him. RE: Stone enabling - he is just doing what Morey taught him to do with Harden, he just chose a guy with worse character to champion. DD
I still don't think what was said was all that bad - all the stuff in Cleveland was dropped - and the punching a girl had the police saying it wasn't a credible report accusing him. He apologized for leaving immediately and the org accepted that apology - I see guys blowing up at coaches all the danged time - Tom Brady comes to mind - so to me this is usually something kept internal. Weed and a gun - pfft, he was 19.....who cares. I did lend credence to the stuff that he was missing practice etc......and was getting away with it...that was more troubling from an org perspective.....and I figured when they gave him the contract that NONE of the stuff talked about was that bad, oherwise why would they give him a new deal? NONE of the big stuff was out - and now it turns out that the ORG enabled him.......which is the OPPOSITE of what he needs, IMHO. So, if anything I put too much faith in the org doing the right thing....... DD
I feel people are just forgetting what he did at USC that made him drop like a rock on draft day. KPJ had top 5 talent who ended up at #14 on ESPN's list who actually got picked at #30 by the Cavs. Think about how badly you must've screwed up to drop that far. I mean Brandon Miller was caught in a shooting and then caught Mono preventing him from participating in a lot of pre-draft workouts, and he still manage to go #2 and at worst he wasn't going to drop below the Rockets at #4. Both college and NBA essentially disregard off-field issues unless it's absolute staggering amount of baggage you're carrying. And USC suspended him indefinitely for a while despite being a 5-star recruit and USC's biggest recruit in a while.
I just don't think there's a team in the league willing to face the fan/media blowback for trading for Porter at this point. Money be damned. Just cut him and move forward.
