Before the puke come out, please hold down. Don't waste food in that way.

I invite you to read my posts in the first page regarding making this poll. This is a poll, and a poll doesn't question anything. It reflects public opinions and collects discussions. It is objective, at least I tried my best to make it to be. If I tried to make it subjective, I'd leave only two opions:

    1. I gained alot of respect for him
    2. I gained some respect for him

Why? Because I personally gained respect for him. I used to have doubts about him having enough desire and passion, but he showed he has both today, at least off the court. I expect him to overcome his deficiency in conditioning and translates those passion and desire onto his performance next game.

We are all Yao fans, but I wonder why our eyes are particularly sensitive to the negative part of the discussions, even it's only the minor part. There are three options on the poll, one positive, one neutral and one negative. The existance of one negative option makes people think this is a Yao-bashing thread. Look at the results, please! There are twice amount of people voted they gained respect than those who voted they lost respect.

Anyway, I invite you to come in and discuss. If you voted that you gained respect for Yao, so did I! If you voted otherwise, there is nothing wrong about it either. Let start discussing, and stop puking.

maybe this is over-criticized.but after a painful game,it's just so hard to swallow the comments from yao.

    Yao,a typical shanghai man.

in china, shanghai people are known as weak in character,narrow-minded and worship foreign.i don't think that's true.but if you presume that is how things stand, instead of a little giant, what we saw was just another shanghai man.

cry baby, cry.after your butt got kicked and mama not around,it's ok.

they are not your nba colleagues.they are very young and much less talented.they are just what they are.they stumbled, panicked and then collapsed.if you built your hope upon a couple monthes of tweaking.sorry babe, life is tougher.btw, what were you doing during that free fall.

there was another nba player on the court, with the desire to look for body contact to gain advantages on both ends, with the authority to slam it home in every possible occasion.before you criticized your teamates for not reaching higher ground, ask yourself, are you there?

you always remained a humble way in nba.it's a way of self-protection in a strange environment.but in CNT,humble no more. you talked about team roster directly and expressed you ambitions more clearly, then made harsh comments about your teamates after just one game.want to be a team leader,fine.finger-pointing boy scout leader?please try again.

yao in cnt, just like malcolm in the middle with zero fun.

PS:believe it or not.there is actually an effective and coherent government system in china.yao's issue is in the hands of cba, general administration of sport and the government of shanghai city,no higher than that.it's very offensive to use "chinese government" all the time."cba" can do all the work.

    Biased, man, you are biased!
Never say "shanghai people are known as weak in character ....", like you should never say "chinese people are known as weak in character..." That's stereotype, prejudice and discrimination!
I hope you are not chinese cause I don't want to have any relationship with you.
If you were, I feel bad for you, you are insulting some people from your own country.

I have always respected Yao and nothing he has said has changed my mind about him. Really, I'm not surprised. Now Yao blowing up with the media yesterday -- that's just amateur hour. He needs to build up his anger stamina before just launching like that. Hopefully, he lets some of this emotion out piecemeil. I'd like to see him harvest some of that anger into his playing style.

I am a bit concerned about how the Chinese Gov't might treat Yao or future basketball players from their country after seeing this. Culturally speaking, Yao just lit a fart at a press conference.

Hmm, did you pass any English test? There is difference between bunch of words stacking together and writing.
Now your logic, boy, how old are you? He is weak in Character, narrow minded because he is from Shanghai? Wow, last time I check Shanghai carries loads of China's GDP and shoveling out taxes to Beijing like mad. Well, that must have to do the with the weak character.
No wonder Wang defected because he is from Beijing and open-minded.
Take some English lessons and crazy pills, will you.

Maybe CNT should have gotten a San Antonio coach instead of a Dallas one (style of game).

But the International game caters more to a perimeter orientated, bombs away, and zone up to cover deficencies style. Sounds like that fits the Mavs to a "T".

At first I respected him as much as before after he called out his team mates, but after he lead by example in the game against New Zealand scoring 39ts with a 70% FG its hard not to gain more respect for him. Lets hope he keeps the fire in him all the way...
