He's been looking like a little leaguer out there, swinging at bad pitches, taking strikes looking, & weak ass grounders
Boys in here are gonna be shook if the team is still doing this stuff next year and all the supposed reasons why are gone
Who said anything about a 10 game lead? A 4 or 5 game lead right now would be almost certain. If you want to discount what has been done with the lineup whatever. But he was an absolute fool with his early use of Montero when he kept running him out there when clearly he didn’t have it. That alone lost them at least 2 games depending where you want to argue he should have drawn the line using him in high leverage.
don't care. rather win/lose with yainer as main catcher, chas as main CF and not more of this personal CF bullshiz.
But do you then have to ignore the games he’s contributed since? All that stuff tends to even out as the bullpen has probably been this team’s most consistent performer all year (again). The biggest trends they’ve had this season is the long stretches of Altuve/Yordan being out, starting pitching regressing nearly every month since June (requiring the JV trade), and a lineup that seems to run all hot or all cold. They’ve had enough guys step up, which is why they’re (gulp) in first place…. But to say this team would be sitting pretty with just lineup tweaks is just as flawed “black and white logic” as anything.
Easy to forget since we won the whole thing but Altuve struggled mightily in the playoffs and it was obvious he was pressing. He had 0 homers and very low BA but luckily other hot bats like Pena and Gurriel picked us up and he was able to get it together by the World Series. He really needs to get it together or else we have no shot.
