Their starting pitcher Ragans has been a CY caliber pitcher ever since he came over from the Rangers in the Chapman trade. Dude hasn’t given up 3 runs in like a month. This lifeless Astros team doesn’t inspire confidence. Side note…good job Rangers on that trade lmao
We haven't seen the Astros come up this small in a while. They don't have it. There is no switch to flip with the pitching so bad. Every pitcher on the staff bar Nerris has regressed. No bueno.
For the first time since the championship runs began, we are watching the Astros feel sorry for themselves and give up in front of our eyes.

Maybe if our manager treated the first few months with any sense of urgency and actually played his best players, we would be possibly (probably) be in a situation where we could skip and rest these inconsistent starters who have all surpassed career highs in innings.

Exactly. The pitching becoming progressively worse as this year has gone is a product of Dusty ****ing around with the lineup, the team losing tight, low scoring games at the beginning of the year, etc. and feeling forced to ride this pitching staff heavy down the stretch. It's not just black and white "oh the pitching sucks, that's why we are failing down the stretch".
You’re not in any situation of having a 10 game lead with this much inconsistency in the starting pitching. It’s been going on since June.
Tell me the starting pitching stats since June. The pitching was good the first 1.5 months of the season. They’ve lost a ton more games where their starters were bad vs. losing games where their starters were good.
