I can agree with some of those points above, however, I don't like small sample sizes compared to a full season. If you took Abreu's June and July you'd think he was getting paid $30 mil a season. Players wear down over the course of a season and hard to predict that a player with 22 games started would do better or worse on an every day basis. Just like you can't predict Chas would have 30 HRs and almost 90 RBIs if he played everyday.

I also feel pressure situations in baseball is what makes or breaks a player. If someone is constantly getting on base with one out and no one one but doesn't score a run, that's not real progress compared to someone that can do that with runners on or with 2 outs to extend an inning. Abreu drives in runs when it matters. He doesn't necessarily get on base in low pressure situations as evident by his low run total, but he outperforms his OB% by driving in timely runs with 2 outs. That is crucial in a playoff series and that's what I look for.

Its just as likely that if Singleton got Abreu's playing time that he could hit 30 HR with 100 RBI. We simply don't know how more or less playing time would effect either.

    rest vs rust

We can simply agree that we have different views and each enjoy the Astros win tonight.

I'm not saying I'm rooting for the Dodgers... but a sweep would be nice.

Random playoff bracket thought. Just think the division winners should get to choose their opponents. Especially the teams on a bye.

I don't necessarily agree with that but it should definitely be reseeded after the WC round.

What if a pennant race happened and nobody showed up?

I'm worried Roberts is going let the Mariners win.

This day last year, we clinched the playoffs. Baseball is suppose to be my stress relief.

Servais is the master of extra inning games... at least kill off their bullpen.

    Ok buddy.

We are the 2nd worst team in xtras...Seattle is the 5th worst.

    Such Masterful Servaising.

eta: the funniest thing about this is you holding up Scott Servais as some sort of managerial genius.

Phew. 5 runs for Dodgers in the 11th. If they blow this, then the baseball gods would have chosen who they want to the AL West.
