I like him a lot, but I do find his obsession with Twitter and complaining about it a bit strange. Twitter or X is the cesspool of the internet. Nothing matters until they make people use their real names....I hope that happens soon. DD
Ya so people are still making moral claims about fans liking KPJ before this incident. I guess that is just going to continue and I just have to accept it.
What is "incident"? What range are we speaking of? Because we have people saying here they called it, it being him beating his girlfriend near death based on him leaving a game during halftime.
@Nook Sincere question. Do you think this is moral grandstanding? Do you think posters here are morally culpable for defending KPJ before this incident? Are people defending the abuser because they said they didn't predict this? Personally I haven't seen any poster defend this as this poster claims outside a couple of posters who are making up hypotheticals blaming the victim. But do you see people defending KPJ because they aren't "owning up to being wrong" or whatever these people are stating? .I'm asking you because I already know you had sincere concerns about KPJ but you are usually more measured and mature in your responses.
I appreciate the informative post. It’s shocking that Fertitta either knowingly lets Stone run the team this way or is in the dark on the stories about KPJ. I wouldn’t have expected Tilman to be as hands-off with the team as it sounds like he is.
Do you mean what incidences KPJ has been part of? I honestly don't think this needs to be said because there are plenty of examples. In addition, he didn't just leave the arena, he was throwing things in the locker room before doing so. No one could honestly say that they expected him to strangle his girlfriend. However, I can guarantee plenty of people expected him to have another incident at some point (inside or outside the locker room). I mean, if KPJ punched a teammate, would that have been at all a surprise? People expected KPJ to do something bad, what people didn't expect was how bad this "something was".
Why do the Rockets have to wait for the NBA to investigate to cut this guy? Seems pretty cut and dry that he's a psychopath and doesn't deserve to be a part of the Rockets any more, why does the team have to wait until the NBA investigates? Looking at the Miles Bridges situation, I have no faith in the NBA to do the right thing. Anyone unfortunate enough to see the video of Bridges' kid asking his grandmother why his dad beat up his mum knows that Bridges doesn't deserve an NBA contract any more but he's suiting up for the Hornets again. I just hope the Rockets don't make the same mistake and try to rehabilitate KPJ. He is clearly an absolute scumbag and doesn't deserve the privilege of playing in the NBA and all the benefits that come with it.
This is way off topic but I feel like Tilman was hands on when he first bought the team and forced Daryl's hand on the Chris Paul-Westbrook trade. After seeing how that ended up destroying a title contender, Tilman seems to let the basketball people do the basketball things now. Whether we have the right basketball people in place in the front office is another question, this Porter Jr situation makes me question their judgement entirely.
I really thought he was over any off court issues and would just take a few years to improve his on-court attitude. I thought Udoka would be able to help with that (along with having a more suitable role as 6th man). It could have been a great season for him to improve his offensive and defensive attitude, be part of a decent team with good vets. It could have also earned him an extra year of guaranteed money. A year from now, he would be seen as a good piece on an ultra young Rockets team that plays basketball with the perfect culture. This season could have been a turning point for him.
Your lips have been browned more than enough by kissing KPJ's behind. Keep Alpi's name out of that soiled mouth of yours.
Not sure whether this got posted here, he's a complete psycho: https://apnews.com/article/houston-...sault-arrest-f560d0198b148df4817110dd1d0c902c "According to Curzer, Porter has a history of abusing Gondrezick, including an incident in which he rammed his car into hers." "According to a criminal complaint, Gondrezick told police that Porter punched her repeatedly in the face with a closed fist, causing an inches-long gash above the right eye, bruising and substantial pain to her face. Gondrezick, 26, said Porter also wrapped his hands around her neck and strangled her, causing her to have difficulty breathing, redness and bruising to her neck, and loss of motion to her left arm. Hospital testing showed that Gondrezick sustained a fracture to one of the vertebrae in her neck, the criminal complaint said."
Sounds like both she and the Rockets should have moved on from this criminal a long time ago. The car thing is only coming out now. @Nook had warned us. DD and others were deflecting and denying. I am sure more things will come about him, including from his time at USC.
The funniest thing is @Bobbythegreat saying the Rockets are a worst team for not having this criminal on the team.
